I want Davis to do well, but sometimes it’s like watching “World's Fastest Car Chases” - You’re amazed at what people can do, but you know it is going to end up horribly.

Looks like he's crashing and burning today. As of 10:01 he's +2 on the second round and falling fast.

I have to admit it was nice to see DL3 torching the course yesterday. However, I agree with you 100% Dave. I was wondering when he would make the big mistake. And it was definitely a BIG one.

What happened on his chip shot on 17 yesterday? I am thinking he just completely went under the ball but it literally looked like a whiff!

I really would like to see Davis put together a good tournament and get a Ryder Cup spot but you're right Dave and Cody, it's like, do we really know he'll do well? I think he will, I hope anyway. Ugh.

It was a whiff. He didn't want to put it on the green because he felt it would bounce and roll into the water.

God no. I hope Davis and Freddie stay far, far away from the Ryder Cup.

I'll give DLIII some credit because he is back to -7 overall and one shot off the lead. He fought back after a tough start. He is definitely putting himself in position to make the Ryder Cup team whether anyone likes it or not.

It's going to be a very interesting weekend of golf for more than one reason.

Another reason Davis is a good Ryder Cup pick is that he is a pretty good match play golfer. He's finished well in the Accenture match play championship every year (finishing 2nd twice).

Sure he blows up from time to time, but in match play you only lose 1 hole rather than 2 or 3 shots.

Davis, maybe. Freddie, no.

Like I said above, I think Davis is a good Ryder Cup pick...if he needs the pick. Let's put it this way, would you rather have Brett Wetterich, John Rollins or Davis?

The way Davis has played this year, I'd rather have someone who has a good chance of being on the team for years to come. Besides, Rollins won't make it and Wetterich will likely get bumped this week (one can hope).

So I'd rather have Stewart Cink, Lucas Glover, Scott Verplank, or even Arron Oberholser over Davis Love III.

Agreed. The only one on that list I might waver on is Verplank, but right now I'd probably take him over Love.

or even Arron Oberholser over Davis Love III.

Nah. I like Oberholser, but I'd rather have Love on the team.

    • 70 today. The number looks good but, the course is a par 67 (5,110 yards, 64.3/115.). While the 70 took quite a few good shots to achieve, I am not counting that as shooting my age.
    • Played our town’s executive course this morning. Everything is closing but for now Huron Hills remains open. #13 is shaped like an upside down backwards L (dogleg left). Only 231 yard par 4. Dogleg has a tree guarding the corner and a sand bunker guards the green for those cutting the dogleg. Tiny green. About 10 years ago or more I would try to cut the dogleg. The hole is so short that even if one tangled with the tree or was bunkered, par was likely and birdie was still on the table. Now in my 70’s, I just hit it straight and try to wedge it close for birdie. Today I screwed up and pulled my drive. I wandered around a bit when my ball was not in the bunker. Finally located it on the approach to the green. Almost chipped in and tapped in the 2 inches for birdie. Best unintentional shot of the week. 😲
