I love to practice because I see the results of working on the short game on the course. It helps me keep sharp when I play a round. I try to practice as much as I can in between appointments and to help break the day up. Practice on reducing your putts and up and downs per round.

When I'm hitting it good, I hit lots of balls to better ingrain the changes. When I hit it bad, I sit down for five minutes, maybe chip around a bit. Hit some 8i shots, if it's still bad, I leave the range.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I would tend to agree and disagree with the previous posts

Agree that is more balls than needed, a bucket of about 60-75 on friday fallowed by some putting and chipping. Sat. Short game 100 yds and in if you have the facility to do it bring in some of your own parcatice balls and a shag bag and hit 100 or so from varying distances than a little putting.
Sunday let's play some golf after hitting a warm up bucket of 20-30 balls. I cannot stand starting off a round cold.

Sounds like some of you guys could practice with VJ hitting truckloads a day!

I much prefer playing than practicing especially since I don't have the time these days... But if I have to hit the range I usually pretend I am playing a course and run through my clubs and various shots.

I agree with ohiolefty! I respect the pros and the grind they go through to stay on top. For us, if we get frustrated we can just call it a day and go back to our lives outside of golf. Pros, well... I am not sure what they do.

In my Ping stand bag:
Irons: 3-PW Titleist T blades, 2-iron King Cobra Oversize cavity back

Putter: Mizuno Brass Bulls Eye Flange
Woods: King Cobra Pro S9-1 8.5 deg X-stiff, and 15 deg X-stiffShoes: Asics Tour Gels

The pro´s practice short game more than the long game.
still they need to practice a lot as they cant keep it togheter for a round.

Lot of practice isnt the key, its called smart practice, then you dont need to hit so many balls.
if your able to have your shots with your swing, there is no need to practice it much.
it will always be there.

short game is to increase the accuracy so it is consistent.
