I went out to play yesterday after work and felt really good about my game lately. I played Wednesday and had one of the best and most relaxing rounds of my life, so I was hoping to carry that over to Thursday.

On the front 9, I was playing fairly well (for me), but after we made the turn, I couldn't hit anything and just felt drained, irritated, and tired. I finished the round horribly, and kind of chalked it up to just getting tired. When I got home, I felt really horrible, so I took my temperature, and was running a 102 degree fever!!!

No wonder I felt weak and drained out on the course....

Had the same kind of day myself yestarday. I'm on chemo and some days I can play without getting to drained, but yestarday was not one of those days. Shot a 102. Felt weak and drained all day. I'm going again today also. Hope I have a better day. It really doesn't take much to throw a guy off his game'. Thats the challange of golf.

Get well Bullitt and get back out there.

Same as well for me...yesterday was my first time out and felt horribly winded the back 9, particularly the last 4-5 holes...My score was still horrible since I couldn't chip to save my life...but i had a good time...Today at lunch, i'll be working on my chipping...

I usually play about 7-10 shots better on the back 9. The only time that didn't happen was when I had my best front 9, 4 over. I was like I can't wait for the back 9. I should have! It was like I never picked up a club in my life.

Yeh I have been playing rubbish on course as the winter greens are tiny and are about as bumpy as a teenagers face

Use proactive.

And to Bullit5339, I hope you feel better man. I woke up this morning with a 103.2 degree fever and sounding like Bill Clinton. It sucks being sick. It's the worst thing that could happen to me really because I usually can't go a day without golfing. I love it to death. So, If I can't golf one day, it stings. In my stomache area.

We jumped from 13 green to 18 tee this afternoon (yes, it was wide open) feeling drained. Walking in a 15-20 mph breeze will suck the life right out of ya.

Hope all of you sick people recover quickly.

I was wondering what could make you feel so bad on a weekday on the golf course. I figure it has to be better than sitting at my desk daydreaming about having a bad day on the golf course! LOL Hope you all feel better!

Felt better today, so I went and played 18. I felt so good after 18, I wanted to go around again, but the wife had other plans for me.

I was hit or miss today, every other shot was decent, my driver is getting better, but my irons were off today compared to normal, and I don't even want to talk about my putting............. It's always been horrible..

Stats for today:

9 fairways (3 slight misses, light rough)
1 GIR
41 Putts (my worst in over a year)
0 for 2 for sand saves
Score: 98

Not a horrible round for me, but a little bit off my normal. I attribute that to the lack of GIRs (typically 3-4 in a round) and my putting (typically 37ish)

    • That was a good watch. When I started working on pelvis in the backswing. I thought, this sounds contradictory to those leg straightening threads on the site. Erik has already done a correction. Then the last lesson we went more down the route of feeling the right knee gains flex. It doesn’t, but the feeling keeps my knee position in a good range. Also, I just realized how much extra work my right hip needed to do to stabilize the body with the proper weight shift. Those glute and hip stabilizers got worked. 🤣 I wish this evolution in the golf instruction happened 20 years ago! 😭

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: squirt to the right due to to much arm not enough turn. • The first issue Erik spoke about is something we worked on for my swing during both GEARS sessions. GEARS was showing my pelvis center moving towards the ball during the back swing. I wasn’t the 4” guy though! This forced me to correct on the downswing to give myself space. My hip rotation was to high as well. We corrected it by first getting the weight off my heels in my stance and getting my posture correct. Then the feel was shifting back into my right hip at a 45 degree angle. This kept my pelvis center from moving towards the ball at the start of the backswing. I also didn’t sway back as much as I felt I did because of the angle I was shifting. Feel Ain’t Real. The cool thing about GEARS is as you work on something you can see the exact (Real) change happening. On video, it is much harder to spot this issue because of the 2D nature of filming. But I know what to look for now. Sadly, I was hurt all last year and most of this year so I really haven’t been able to work on it much. I did do a lot of backswing work though.
