Anyone else use this putter? I picked one up today on sale, because I absolutely hated my Itsy Bitsy Spider. I couldn't make any putts with it, so I wanted to go back to a blade style putter and see if the extra feel would help me out, and this one was cheap.

I absolutely love this putter. It was an immediate improvement over the Itsy Bitsy Spider (for less than half the price). It has such a soft touch, I think I'll be keeping this one for quite a while, and drop some strokes on the green!!!

I recently tried the Cleveland Classic heel shafted that resembles Phil's putter.

I thought it was an exceptional value.

I tried one. I didn't really like it after the first couple "honeymoon" rounds. If I hit it anywhere towards the toe it was terrible, for me. Had to hit it from the alignment mark in towards the heel or I'd get a bad roll.

Not necessarily the putter's fault, as many seem to like it, but just didn't work for me.

I've tried out the number 1 putter....I thought the ball came off the face really hot. I'm really interested in trying out the new cleveland classic bronze series (same putter, bronze heads with inserts) to see if that helps out the feel for me any. None of the stores around me seem to have any of those in yet.

Kind of late to the discussion,

But I bought a Cleveland Classic putter a few years back to replace my Odyssey White Steel # 1. My Odyssey had the ball coming off the face, just too hot.

I tried a Cleveland classic # 1 at local NOrthway 8 golf and loved this club. The face is soft, yet responsive. I compared the cleveland against every ping and scotty cameron in the building and still prefered the cleveland. And for $69 (and I had a $25 gift card) how could I go wrong. I replaced the grip with a winn mid-sized and never looked back.

The only issue I have is the club feels alitte heavy for a 34". However I have been unable to find a putter with such a soft feel, for the comparable price!

In my Grom:

Irons- Callaway Big Berthas 5i - GW Wedges- Titles Volkey  Putter- Odyssey protype #9
Ball- Bridgestone E6

The Cleveland Classics are great putters.  Theyd be a great putter at any price but the fact that they are so inexpensive is a huge plus, IMO.  Ive owned a few Cleveland Classics: a CC1 BRZ, CC2 Platinum and a CC3 Platinum and they were all good to me.  If this X-Ray Tau doesnt work out, I will likely end up with another CC1.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
