Anyone able to watch the masters in 3d? Do you need a special 3d enabled TV or just one with 120+ Hrz and some glasses?

I wish I was so fortunate. You need a 3d capable TV. I believe only Samsung and Panasonic are selling them right now, and only in one size (at least at the local Best Buy thats all there is). You also need special glasses. They are LCD shutter glasses that are battery powered... Another $160 a pair. And last if I'm not mistaken your provider has to be able to supply the signal. I know Directv isn't starting till mid year. I heard Comcast is showing it but I don't know anyone else.

My mother called me up and told me she was watching it in 3D. I became angry. The point of the story is that she thought it looked awesome in 3D.

3D is an interesting concept, but time will show if there really is potetial in the market. For something to succeed, it has to be embraced by the viewers. Not too difficult on the movies, where you can go see a movie in 3D for somewhat the same price, but to watch 3D on a TV at home require all new equipment and that you have to use glasses when viewing. LCD, Plasma and LED-LCD has been on the market for some time now and lots of people got quite new 40"+ TVs. They won't change that in a hurry just to get 3D.

3D golf would be so intense, but I'll settle for it in High Definition, which makes golf the best sport to watch on HD.

I agree. Watching the Masters this year on my new HD set was a super golf experience. Football on HD is pretty awesome, too.

I'm in no hurry to do anything beyond HD for the forseeable future. My parents recently visited and I was laughing all week at their reaction....Dad was picking out what ball the players were using....Mom was laughing at the make-up bleminshes uncovered by the HD broadcasts.
