I have Golf Logix on my Blackberry. It tracks score, fairways hit, GIR, putts, chips, and penalty strokes. It can also track shot distance per club, then sort out all the statistics.

The only problem is, I carry it all day for work, and hate carrying it on the course!

I just write my actual score in the box - sky caddie takes care of the rest (putts, fairways, girs)

I use Golfshot on my iPhone, keeps track of stats, emails me and my playing partners the scorecard, and keeps the database online. I'd like to use skycaddie but it only tracks score and putts on my SG2.5 whereas golfshot tracks those plus what club I used on the tee and where my tee shot ended up.

I use a score sheet from GStat Pro for myself. I keep track of fairways, greens, putts and make notes on most shots. I breakdown drives to 5 directions and how the ball got there. (left rough, left fairway, center fairway, right fairway, & right rough) (Hook, draw, straight, push, fade, & slice). I do the same for the approach shot, dividing the green into either 4 or 6 quadrants, and recording how far from the pin the approach shot was. I then can go over the data and find trends and use history to help determine practice. I have also started using the data to help determine how I play certain holes, and include some of the notes in my yardage books for certain courses. It seems that I probably go overboard on keeping data, but I have found it has helped me a lot. When in tournaments or league play, I also keep the regular score card. But if its just a practice round by myself or people I don't know, I only keep my stats. I'm usually pretty aware of how many under/over I'm at though.

I track fairway hit/miss, number or putts, and club used from tee. The online scorecard website I use calculates GIR, putting average, fairway % with different clubs, and all sort of other reports.

I usually print the scorecard from the Scorecard program and use that so I can make it so I can fit 4 full scorecards on a normal piece or paper or card stock (2 on front, 2 on back) and keep a bunch in the trunk during the season. I have created a generic one also that does not have any info on it in case I go to a course without really planning.

Makes it so I don't have the chance to forget keeping track of things, and makes it really easy to put it back into the program when I get home from the round.

    • I am currently playing a Cobra Ltdx LS 9 degree driver and Cobra Ltdx LS FW3. Both with Tensei White stock stiff shafts and original weights of 12g (heel) and 3g (toe). My miss is usually a pull fade or sometimes a slice, swing is out to in. Driver swing speed about 112 mph. Grips are stock regular. Intended change: Driver: Switching to Tensei White x-flex one inch shorter which I suppose would be 44,5? Changing heel weight to 18g. Changing grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Change hosel setting to standard draw. FW3: Changing heel weight to 16g (apparently not available in FW weights, but supposed to be something called "internal weight" a club builder can add which fits between the weight and the screw?). Change grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Changing hosel setting to standard +1. The goal is to 1) get better grip since I tend so lose grip in warm and moist conditions with the current grips and 2) mitigate the misses to start more straight with less side spin. Also considering adding the Cobra Ltdx LS FW5 instead of my old Taylormade R9 and getting 14g heel and 6g toe weights with the same grip as the others and hosel setting standard +1.   All of the above is based on conversations with ChatGPT and, as everyone knows, it can come up with pretty much whatever but I spent a few hours asking about different perspectives etc and this was the recommendation. So, my question is basically, does it make any sense?   Thanks.
