i know the mp series from mizuno isnt meant for forgiveness, but im lookin at new sets of irons. And rather im ready for mp's or not i want to get them, or something like them, that will teach me how to strike the ball and hit it in the sweet spot more consitantly rather than CB's masking flaws. But i ask for the most "forgiving" of the line because i also dont want to be hitting a straight up blade that will be near impossible for me.

I'd consider mine forgiving.

Hit whatever new MP you want, but "it's not 11, is it!?!?"

Kennay, how'd you get to a 9.8 hcp without the ability to hit a pure iron shot? Go get fitted by a Mizuno pro fitter and then just enjoy what you choose to buy.

It ain't bragging if you can do it.

Id say the MP 57, i found them much easier to hit than the MP 52 which is supposed to be more forgiving with the milled pockets at the back, the MP 57's just seem to be the perfect blend of forgivness in a nice compact head oh and they have perfect distance control. They are also superseeded so you could even get a good deal on them, i got mine brand new 3 months ago for $ 450

It doesn't sound like you're looking for MPs then.

And since you've never seen Spinal Tap, I have no other wisdom for you.

For some reason, I feel that I get away with better shots with the -57s (which I have) than any of the newer ones that I've tried, although the newer ones were only on the range.

The MP-33s look like blades but have a matching MPF to the -57s.

MP-57's are fantastic sticks, and forgiving enough for a sub-10 handicap, IMHO.

Haven't hit the new 58's, but they sure look sweet.

Good luck on the hunt,

where did i type i cant pure an iron shot? i just want something that will teach/ show me to pure it more consitantly and give me feedback rather than relying on a CB that masks it when i dont..

You didn't but I sensed you doubt your ability to get your money's worth out of a set of MPs. I think that hcp of yours indicates you can and will hit any MP you choose just fine. And I don't think the clubs teach you to hit well, they challenge you to to hit well

It ain't bragging if you can do it.

Maybe slightly off your radar, but the MX-300 and/or i15 might be just what you're looking for.

to much forgiveness, thanks for trying though.... IMO even the i15's still look like shovels... ill look at mx 300 though

Hi,
I have the MP-52's and have no problem whatsoever hitting them pure...a bad swing will give u a bad result as it does with my Callaway X-20's but dont be concerned abt them not being forgiving, they are a treat to play with, I could not be happier.

Just get fitted and purchase the ones you feel good with.

Too much forgiveness? Why don't you get a left-handed set - that should make your new irons even less forgiving for you?

In terms of forgiveness, appearance and dimensions, I think you'll find there's not much difference between mx300 and i15, if you have a proper look.

My more forgiving would have to be the 57s which I have and the 52s as well as the 58s. The 57s are a discontinued model so you might be able to find them for the least amount of money.
