My wife and I were following Phil during the Pro-Am today. He got sick on the 6th tee and had to leave for the day. PGA Tour's website is saying he is still going to try to play in the tournament. Even though you could tell he was sick on the course, he was still playing well and was great towards all the fans.

Based on the blurb I read, I'd guess AK goes under the knife after the US Open, misses the British, but tries to rehab in time for the PGA and FedEx Cup playoffs.

AK with a good start, 5 birdies and one bogey on the first nine.

Tiger started at the back nine, one birdie on the first hole, a bogey on the 12th, then found water on the 17th for a double bogey. Found water again on the 18th, which resulted in a bogey. 3 over on the back nine.
On the back nine he found one fairway and two greens. Not stellar play one would say. As always, he struggle with the driver. And another wayward tee shot on the 1st, yet another bogey.

No chance he can win this week with that game. This course is long and require accuracy, neither of which Tiger got at the moment.

I just don't get why Tiger can't figure out his driver. From the guy who I once heard amazed Nike techs with his ability to hit balls with requested spin rates, and he can't even keep it in PLAY?

Nothing in the swing is done at the expense of balance.

What happened to Parker McLachlin on #7??? It says he made a 12 on that hole!!! On pgatour.com on the Shot Tracker, it says he hit 4 tee shots into "unknown", whatever that means.

      Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.

      Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.

      Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.

      The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
