I will no longer call this game golf. I will call it waiting, because that is all I am doing anymore. I need to win the lottery and buy my own private course I guess. ::rant over::

Sounds like you need to find a new course or play more than one ball.

That's the nice thing about the country club, we only get golfers that know WTF is up, lol , I can't remember the last time I had to wait for anybody

I'm lucky enough to work at a golf course and get free golf whenever I want.

But sometimes I find myself waiting and yes I agree, its really annoying. My game sometimes gets thrown off by slow people in front of me who don't offer to let me play through.

I played 5 holes before giving up and heading in. The first 2 went pretty quick, but I spent 15 minutes each waiting to make my approach shot on the last 3. I spent that time pitching a ball back and forth in the fairway, but that got old REALLY quick. It would have been cool if the threesome in front of me invited me to pair up while we were all waiting.

That sucks. I know right now it's a bit slow but come summer nobody will be out there in the afternoons, it gets above 100F here. I don't mind it, been playing twilights since I was in high school. Fortunately I have a job where I have 3-4 days off a week and work nights so I can travel a bit to courses and get early tee times.

I have been considering a mini membership at a local course here. $99 intro fee and then green fees are only $15 with each 10th round free. My thinking is that if it did get slow to a snails pace I could just play 9 and not worry about blowing a wad of cash - and I can just come back and play the next 9 another day. I don't know, I would wait dude. Good weather right now, everyone is out.

just quit...... waiting that is. just hit the ball right at the group in front of u they will get the idea. most people on the course dont want any trouble and wont say anything to a crazed maniac that just beemed a 3 wood a foot from their head!

If there is no one in front of the group I'm waiting on I just walk around them and catch up that hole at the end. My little course isn't usually too busy, so it's generally not a problem..

I definitely would never hit into anyone, especially since the group in front of me was not causing the backup. They went off right in front of me and played at a really good pace until they hit the "great wall of league play". I have been jumping all over the course this year, but in this instance, the next 3 holes were packed with hacks. I did file a complaint with the head pro about the serious lack of monitoring by our crack staff of rangers. For this, I am sure that I have been labeled a whiner, but this is friggin ridiculous. It should NEVER take 20 minutes to play a par 3, even 17 at Sawgrass!
