I have not seen a putting or short game video from anybody? Who wants to start this new thread? remember putting can sometimes be 1/2 your score during 18 holes. yet, I have not seen a video request to watch a putting or chipping video to with their putting stroke, chipping or pitching stroke.

imho, putting and short game are something you need to figure out for yourself. there really are no ''fundamentals'' to either. my chipping/pitching swing from about 30 yards in is completely different from my full swing. not that it's shorter, but i actually go outside my target line and come across the ball with my clubface pointed at my target. this ensures great contact with the ball. it works excellently for me, but i'm not sure you'd tell someone to come across the ball in a proper teaching course(or perhaps you do, i dunno). it's just something you've got to feel out for yourself and cannot be taught.

same with putting. i hunch over, bend my elbows, and tilt my head a la jack nicklaus. i've never seen somebody actually teach this style of putting. both putting and chipping are so subjective that, aside from good solid contact, there really are no absolutes, just opinions.

If I took too many putts for 18 holes or always three putting holes, I would want someone to watch my putting stroke to give my helpful tips to improve my stroke and consistency.

It sounds good in theory. Personally, there are only a couple people I'd trust with a critique of my short game, and one of them is me.

LMAO, the other is your former self???? j/k

Sean is hitting the nail on the head. Folks have been trying to quantitate "FEEL" since we started chucking spears, let alone hitting little, dimpled balls. Practice, practice, practice That being said, most people say that a 8 iron is right for chipping. Recently, I started chipping with my PW. And last week I chipped in a 40' for bird. Looks like my PW is the chip de'jour. :)

In my bag:

One for slicing
One for hooking
One for knocking it in the cup

I throw this out there since beginners are looking for swing video recommendation but I never see request for video of their putting and short game that may help lower their scores and consistency.

Get the ball rolling - post an example of how it's done.

Here you go.Only short game video you'll ever need.

It's not me by the way..

Not true at all. While there are style variations, everyone will tell you to put your weight on your front foot for short shots. If you are struggly with short game, I suggest "The Art of the Short Game" by Stan Utley. He teaches a simple swing, and it has really helped me over the past few months.

As for putting, if you watch the pros they all look almost identical when they putt, except for putting grip. Basically, keep your body and head still and move your shoulders.
