I picked up a dozen of these a few weeks back because it came with a free hat...glad I did. It's a 3-piece ball, has great feel and they give me a lot more spin than a cheaper ball does. They aren't cheap, think I paid around $40 for them, but I believe these are their best ball. If you're not already a Pro V1 loyalist, you may want to give these a try.

In my Callaway stand bag:

3 Wood: Cleveland Launcher 15 degree Adilla Voodoo shaft
Irons 3-SW: Callaway X-14 Steelhead

Lob wedge: Cleveland 60 degree

Putter: Ping Anser Karsten

here is a good article on the different balls on the market and comparisons. They match up almost exactly with the ProV 1 and the Z-Start X matches closely with the Pro V1x. Definitely worth a try if you are not stuck on a ball.

i tired the Z Star Tour yellow - found it to be considerably shorter than the Pro V and even the B'stone B330 RX-S

That's because you're from Saskatchewan, guys from B.C. hit them a mile...just kidding. I'd kill to be able to bow hunt in Sask.

I found one on the course in brand new conditions but didn't manage to play well with it (not that i blame the ball). check around the greens was about the same as a pro v1x and it wasn't as accurate off the tee.
it's a nice ball but i'll stick with my pro v1x until i can give the z-star x a shot, maybe i'll like that one more.

I'm working on a dozen Srixon Trispeeds (alternating rounds with a Wilson Eco Core). If the Z Star is better than the Trispeed, I'll maybe give them a try, because the Trispeeds feel solid tee to green.

I played with both the z-star and the trispeed... z-star obviously checks a lot more, but i did notice that it was shorter, but most premium balls are a little shorter. I don't mind this so much. But i did have trouble with the Trispeed and not checking at all... Maybe i don't compress it enough but, no other ball had as much roll out. The Z-Star was Great! I think i am going to start playing the yellows. I like to easily find the ball and this helps greatly!

I do actually prefer other balls to the Trispeeds - thought it was just me though. They're a little too long (flown greens), but I never play a high spin ball, so I'm used to a little bit of release.

I actually ordered some last saturday not realizing it came with a free hat until checkout haha. Now I can pretend I'm Jim Furyk :P I just thought I'd try one of their nicer balls because no one sells Srixon's around here and the Z Star's seem like they are well liked.
