Approx what height should i be teeing up the 3 wood off the tee box. Recently seem to have the yips topping them and spraying them left and right.

Used to have it just above ground and play like i would off the fairway and hit slightly down on the ball through impact, but recently it wasnt working so i teed it higher and tried to really sweep it off the ground. Now nothing works lol....please help

just depends, some fairway woods have a deeper face than others (more vertical height of the face). Really just preference. I tee mine up real low, barely off the ground, same as i do with the irons.

i think ill follow your lead. i did like it when all my tees were same height except driver, it gave me a consistent swing feel through to the irons.

I had similar problems the otherday, one of the best adivises I got was choking a bit down on the grip, most 3W shafts are really long, making them even harder to control than a driver.

Just off the ground like an iron. The only time i tee up a 3wd any higher is for a long par3.

Or at the range for fun. Tee it up halfway above the face, lean back & do my LDA impersonation. It's a little wild but gets some real good flight out of it.

I like to tee it up so the top of the ball is above the clubface a little bit. but thats me. its all up to what you want to look at.

I stub the ground on the teebox and make a tee using that for iron shots and woods (saves money on tees). remember to tap it back down afterwards.

just off the ground is best for irons and woods

I play my irons and 3 wood off a tee so that the balls sits a finger height between the ground and bottom of the ball.

Like the best "fluff lie" on the fairway ... just that the bottom of the ball is carressing the tops of the grass.

I tee my 3 wood up about 1". I'm pretty consistent with the 3W. I can sure mess up the game when I take out the driver though

okay so ive always been told to hit your irons on the tee just like the fairway, ie- ball just sitting above grass so that you still take a divot. should i be taking a divot with 3 wood off the tee?

no.

Says who?

You can sweep, hit down or hit up with the club. If done properly, you can hit it great all three ways. I would recommend emphasis on hitting down, like a long iron. I like hitting down on the ball, especially when it's on the fairway, sweeping cause the bottom of the swing to be closer to the ball, which brings the chance of topping or chunking it into play. Hit down on the ball. You say you hit it well before, so why would you start messing with the tee height? The tee height is consistent, your swing is not. Teeing the ball higher is like begging for balloon shots.

im the same as many others. I tee mine just high enough to give me a perfect lie. If i used a deeper faced 3w i might tee it up higher.
