Hey boys (and girls?)

Thought i would upload my swing and show what the swingyde has done to it.
I have taken 2 lessons in my life but has never really got into regrooving my swing but now its time. Ill start here to see what you guys say.

The first 2 videos is from last year. Pretty much the 1st time i saw my swing on video and to 2 last once are just the other day.
I bought a swingyde and to be able to get into the postions it wants me to be i had to change my grip to the stronger which is the only concius change i have made but i know and see that it has changed my swing alot.

The things i dont like is my left knee moving in and my head tilting/moving.
Analyze this to pieces now!

Have to get a 60fps camera. But think these should be sufficient.

Your hands leave the arc really early and then struggle to get back to it. They almost move away from you (or maybe they do) on the takeaway when they should stay on the arc or close to it - back, up, and inward.

First thing I notice is that your spine is leaning towards the target at the top of the back swing. Try to get that behind the ball a bit more it will help the ball striking my friend.

I saw that "swingyde" once before and the guy didn't know what it was called. I think its brilliant, simple and cheap.

PS how cool you have a driving net in the warehouse!

Butch and Juice.
I really like your comments and they seem very logic!
Lets see how much (real) work i can do next week trying to groove my tilt and hand movement.

Actually i thought my takeaway looked very good compared to what it was but when you point it out Butch my hands do go "out". I think i need to take the club the way it goes but with hands going "together/deeper/closer to my body" with it!

more more more! love this!

Allthough my ballstriking has been very good lately but as people that know swings see my bad miss is a straight pull. Not bad but still 5+ meters left of target!

well i have been hitting the range and the practice net this weekend and worked on the tips i got.

Video from today i think i got the tilt better maybe it should lean even more away from the target?

Think my takeaway is better with the hands but i tend to return to my old habits with flicking the club back behind me.

More thoughts?

Things look a little loose (for the lack of a better term) at the top. I noticed at :05 in the first video, you really begin to turn your head back... any particular reason? This could be part of the extra movement.

The swingyde has you in a decent position at the top, although it looks to me like you are in somewhat of a hurry to get there. Maintain a straight left arm from address to impact, and be sure not to allow it to collapse as you reach the top of your swing. Along this line, visualize a plane created by the ball and your shoulders, and but sure to extend back along this plane (think back up and in) to increase your swing arc and generate a bit more space between your hands and your torso.

not to be harsh or anything just wondering , you really shoot a 78 with that swing?

oh come on...

the same could be said about your swing...15 h'cap? based on your swing you posted up recently, i'd expect you to be a 30.

well motteler621 i guess i strike the ball fairly consistent (despite how it looks) and have a reasonable shortgame, maybe you should be out practicing that instead of sitting in here and you might see that sub80 round as well?

yeah know about that and damn its a hard habit to get out off. the head movement i think is better now with a more upright swing compared to my first video from last year. straight left arm should be easier to fix.

man that's a big dip in the first vid

ok
no new videos i have kept the swing pretty similar to the last video i uploaded.
i met up with a old friend that had access to a launch monitor a while back and got some numbers. when looking at my latest swing video and seeing these numbers what do you reckon i should focus on?

6 iron 31 degrees

Carry : 154m(approx 165yrd)
Clubspeed: 83.3 mph
Ballspeed: 115.2 mph
Smash factor: 1.38
Spin: 4896 Rpm
Sidespin: left to right 270rpm
Launch angle: 14.3 dg
Landing angle: 37.8 dg
Height: 20m
Angle of attack: -8.4

What i reflected over was the angle of attack. Sounds very steep but have not found any "tour" data on this.
Happy to hear any comments on both last video and the swing data.

-8.4 sounds a bit steep, yeah. The tour average is around -4, but I don't know what the upper and lower parts of the chart is at.

You can find the averages here: http://thesandtrap.com/forum/threads...-Tour-vs.-LPGA

Looking at your video, first thing that pops into my head concerning angle of attack is that you could push the hips more forward. You are favouring your right side on the setup and takeaway. If you got yourself centered over the ball a bit more (figuratively speaking), and get the hips moving more forward on the downswing, without the head moving too, it would flatten out the swing. You could also consider moving the ball a bit forward, I don't know what club you were hitting on the last video there.

I'd also look into deep hands, I think that would help you.

long time since i posted in this thread.

Filmed my swing at the range today and looking for you opinions.

Since my last post i have dropped my hcp quite a bit and been playing some really good golf.

From what i see there is still alot of the same issues as with my older vids.

"lifting" my hands out

hips almost closed at impact

my head turns quite a bit.

i hope you can live with that the videos are not flipped. something went wrong. will have them flipped right next time!

Since the last post i have joined evolvr and getting some nice results through the service and obviously working on the parts i get from there but also interested what all the knowledge from here can bring as well.

The problem i found first when working more with my swing was that i lost focus on the game/target which i think i really focused for last weekends game and payed really well with solid ball striking.

    • They need to do something to speed  up play. They could randomly  time  players. One  idea would  be  if a group gets  out  of  position they are disqualified. If its a group of  3 and  its  1 player playing like  molasses i can imagine an exciting interaction, lol
    • I agree with @dennyjones, a suspension of some meaningful duration would be better than getting bounced from the Tour. They might consider experimenting each week. It might generate a bit of interest. I like the idea of a visible shot clock. If a player and their caddy can’t decide on a strategy and pull the trigger in XX seconds (30? 45? 60?), one stroke penalty. Give each player 2 resets a round. The clock starts when the last player to hit’s ball stops moving. Other pace ideas could be used every couple events until a consensus is reached to adopt or ditch an idea.
