I find myself shopping for golf stuff online often. I normaly look at TGW.com and rockbottomgolf.com. Are there any other good places to find good deals online?

golfsmith.com is another good one. ebay is still ok if you don't mind wading through the crap that people put on there. Also, if you just need golf balls, lostgolfballs.com is pretty sweet too.

Globalgolf is really good. They have a massive inventory of used, new, and open box returns. Much cheaper than TGW, and more selection than rock

I bought some pretty good stuff from Hirekogolf.com. They sell their own manufactured clubs.

I don't like Golfsmith customer service. They are really slow in answering questions.

I hate Golfsmith. They are priced high, but got a good selection. The problem with GS is the long delivery times and long answering time on requests. I've ordered there twice, only to cancel both times and ordered somewhere else due to the f****** order never being shipped.

An order from Rockbottomgolf arrived less than a week after ordering, shipped to Norway. I also like The World Of Golf and The Golf Warehouse.

No way golfsmith is even a place to buy anything period. 1 The workers there are rude and disgusting and second the prices are all MSRP. I'm not cheap by all means but I never pay MSRP on something if I dont have to.

I have used Global Golf. Good stuff there and priced well.

Had good experiences with Rockbottom, TGW, and Global Golf.

I would agree with others that Golfsmith's customer service and pricing is subpar.

for example Golfsmith.com had a golf bag priced for 50.00 more than my local golf store. Online stores are usually cheaper than local stores to help them with sales since they are online only.

Occasionally PGA Superstore has some good deals, but you have to look (right now they have some Miznuo forged wedges at $49 each.) They seem to have a lot of deals in their stores that never make it to the web site though.

I can't stand TGW. I find their site almost impossible to navigate.

Golfsmith seems to have gone off the deep end. Their online prices are higher than anyone elses (they used to have some decent deals, but no more). Their stores also seem understocked. I'm starting to wonder if they are long for this world.

Finally, there is ebay. Although you really have to be carefull. You are just as likely to get screwed by a fake as get a deal. Someone mentioned rock bottom golf. They are also a big player on ebay; most of the stuff on their web site also gets listed by them on ebay and usually goes for less than the web site price.

I'd be shocked if they didn't go out of business in the next 1-3 years.

i doubt they will. There are always people who go with the more well known companies and websites that look really well done even if the prices are high. Golfsmith fits this bill.

    • Depends on the lie, pin location, green.  I would say most of my pitches are with my 60-degree.  Its probably like 90% 60-degree, 10% 56 degree.
    • Depends on my lie and the green I am working with. If I want to fly and stop, my 58* If I am looking for it to run a bit, my 54* And on occasion if the lie and green call for it, punch and run with my 7i
    • I did the RTJ trail, we just did Grand National and Capitol Hill. We were trying to minimize travel time. It gave us 5 courses to play. You pare playing 3 of the 5 we played.  If I had to pick, I would play the Lakes over the Links at Grand National. Links felt too penal on approach shots. If you can't get height or spin, it felt like every ball that hit the center of the green ran off the back. A lot of the greens require force carry, no running it up. It just wasn't that fun to play.   Judge - Really good course, some really cool holes and terrain.   Senator - Really fun open course. They call it link style, I can't remember how much you can play the ball down, but it has the aesthetic appeal.
    • I do that at the range; I just have been going through a half-assed pre-shot routine. 😇 I just kind of waltz up to the ball and hit it. I catch myself just going through the motions of aiming. Once I started aligning my club to an intermediate target, I felt like I was aligned way open to the target but just trusted it. Like, if the club was aimed at the flag in the middle of the green, then my body was aligned left of the green or more (assuming something like a 100+ yard shot). I think I was more concerned with where my feet were lined up and not the clubface.  A question on alignment then.  So, the ball is like what, 3-FT away from the toe target line. So, does that mean if my toe line is aimed at the flag, the club is aimed 3-ft right? Does the perception of the green looking smaller in the distance impact that in terms of how we hit the shot? I feel like the geometry should work that the ball is actually aimed 3-FT right.
