I can't watch the video cuz I'm at work, but I can say that I loooooooovvvvveeee my SuperTri. It's the most consistent driver I've used or tried at a store. Although the Ping G15 was really nice too.

I hit it a couple times at a local Dicks Sporting Goods about a month or so ago, just cant afford the $400 price tag but it felt pretty sweet, usually takes me a few swing to get the feel of a driver but felt good right away. I can see a lot of people buying this driver as soon as the price goes down a bit.

IMHO, I've owned the TM SuperQuad from 3 years back, and outside of the option to open/close the face, my SuperQuad felt better. I was looking for a new driver this year and looked at the Cobra, Nike, and TM as those three looked like three winners. Out of the three, the TM surprisingly felt the worst. To me it just felt light and flimsy. The Cobra felt as good as the Nike, but when it came down it, I liked the fact that you weren't set to choose between only three face angles (open, closed, straight). The Nike adjusted every .25 degrees and I liked that more than the others. Plus, when you find it at a golf show for $200 (the others were roughly in the same range but a bit higher), it helps you pull the trigger more easily.

I don't think there is any more hype then normal. In fact, there is likely less than lat year when they released the original R9. Plus, Taylor Made releases a lot of those videos on their website and on Facebook.

Not to mention that it is a great club.

the r9 supertri is the r9 460 with weights and painted black this is why i would never buy a single taylormade product. And the burner superfast is the worst looking driver i have ever seen.

hey, by chance...do you like nike? lol jk...I'd have to agree tho...I prefer the original R9 in terms of feel and the new one just looks a bit plastic-like.

It's actually a smart (or tricky) advertising technique, that is designed to work like viral marketing, given that the endorsements appear to be spontaneous and genuine.
Everyone clicks on the video and it doesn't cost them a cent.
Those TM sponsored guys know what side their bread is buttered on! Check out the one where Faldo is testing the Burner irons.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

As I said in a few other threads, I find that the old Taylor made gear is much better then the new stuff (R7)
I wwent to a taylormade fitting night hit the Super Tri and did not really like it. Then I i took a look at the new burner and I hated the look of it, has to be the uglyist driver out there! (don't get me wrong, I used to play ALOT of Taylormade gear, I think there old stuff has much better feel and sounds and looks 100X better!)

I just bought 9.5 Stiff Supertri yesterday morning and played with it that afternoon. Shot 79 and missed 2 fairways, one of which I hit through! What an amazing driver, I plan on buying the R9 TP irons as well. One question about those for anyone who has tried both, how would you compare the R9 and R9 TP's? Forgiveness? Feel? Distance? Leaning toward the TP's. I'm single digit and could use some advisory please... It would be appreciated.

Also I'm new to this, how do I upload the clubs I play to my profile like everyone has underneath their name when they write a post?

The superfast is by far the longest driver i've ever hit. It comes off so hot, and carries at least 20-25 yards further than my current r9.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
