Funny story about the cart girl at one my local courses.

It would have been better if she was the one who broke it off initially which would've been the ultimate in revenge for you.

I only recall recently seeing a cart girl at any course ive ever played at and I think it was because it was the memorial weekend and business was greater. She was pretty cute but I didnt buy anything, i usually bring my own cooler with either gatorade or water in it, never have consumed alcohol while playing as I dont very often anyway and Im sure would not be beneficial to my game. I dont mind a nice distraction once in a while but its just not something i normally see around here.

No coolers allowed an any course I've played around here. You can get one from the restaurant, with stuff in it that you bought there, but you can't bring your own. You either drink the water that the course provides for free, or you buy what they offer. Sneaking your own beer, soda, etc., onto the course is grounds for expulsion.

Most of the cart girls on my home course are cute young things, and they do get good business (tips), especially on weekends when more of the players are not the regular weekday guys. Wednesdays are usually good for them too, as a lot of regulars play in larger groups spanning 2 or 3 tee times. She just has to slip right down the line and nearly every group buys at least a couple of beers each time she comes by.

My course doesn't have any cart girls because our halfway hut is in such a place that you pass it 6 times during the round. It is always worked by a young attractive girl, although I'm sure the members would still stock up regardless of what she looked like.

The best part of the hut is if you buy a few beers on your first pass and have yet to drink them when you return, the girls let you exchange the warm beers for cold ones.

There are two courses near me that don't sell beer/liqour, a muni & a public, and thus you're allowed to bring your own. Its against Michigan law to BYOB on a course that does have a beer/liquor license - gotta buy from the course as you described.

i must say that the "warm for cold" brew exchange is a beautiful business strategy.

Boy that's harsh!!!!

I ususally have my frozen bottle of water in the cooler pocket of my bag..I have never had anyone say anything to me for that, then again I have never tried to sneak in alcohol into the course...

Initially you will simply be asked to take it back out to your car. If you try it again after getting caught once, then the expulsion option may be exercised. You can bring water in... like I said, they have thermal jugs with cold water about every 3rd hole. They only charge for bottled water, and anyone silly enough to pay a couple of bucks for something that you can have for free, well.....

Seriously that link to all the cart girls is hilarious. One girl got a $400 tip. Wow.

And yes, the pick up lines are the best to read.

And they go all the way back to 2005. I suggest you find a Ms. Law.

Having nice looking cart girls is never a bad thing. Just makes the game more enjoyable, although a little more distracting.

Be happy with what you have. The military courses around here have retired military DUDES as the cart girl.

That's just wrong! That's like the dude who wanted to work as a waiter at Hooters.

Pensacola had some decent cart girls on base the last time I played.

You mean like driving the ball blindfolded, hitting the ball off a shot glass, those kind of tricks right:)

    • This is my second year playing golf, I started last season but have always struggled with a slice. I've tried multiple things to try and fix the slice: Closing the face. Rotating my right hand out or clockwise in the grip. Keeping the club head low in my back swing. Focusing on a straight swing path. Trying the straighter arms like Bryson D. (as seen in the videos above) Trying to not let me hips get too far ahead of my down swing. Trying to keep my shoulders down until after I've made contact with the ball. Etc. I recently changed to the straighter arms which has helped me adjust away from such a drastic slice. So it has helped a bit. Before that, I was trying to keep the club head low in the back swing and this was the most helpful in correcting the slice, however it drastically removed power and distance in the strikes and would even sometimes result in a hook. About a couple months ago I had a single lesson with my driver and learned some helpful things, but have since struggled to perform what I learned well. One of the things in the lesson was to keep my shoulder down more in the the down swing until after making contact with the ball. This would help the slice a bit, sometimes drawing the ball. To even it out, I was instructed to rotate my hips a bit earlier in the down swing. What I have noticed however with the earlier hip rotation is that it's really hurting my lower back a lot. Since backing off on that it's helped not injure my low back as much. I believe my main issue might possibly be the swing path, being a Pull Slice.   See above, was mid typing when you posted. I have never watched Moe Norman's swing to be honest. I have never measure my hip rotation, but I'd like to hear your thoughts on that after you read about my hip rotation / back pain issue.
    • Two questions… Are you trying to swing like Moe Norman? What's your hip turn like? Have you ever measured it?
