The charity bothers me...

However it sounds like the woman should have been removed and security did nothing. 100 million is absurd but this is america so it's not shocking.

He may have a case against the woman and the tournament organisers(for not throwing her out) if his injuries are indeed related to that incident, and that's very hard to prove anyway. But suing a children's charity.. really?I'm not sure why this charity is even being sued unless the woman in question was working for them.?But would you really want to take that much money from a charity that helps kids anyway? That's pretty low.Could be John saw a possible way out of his money problems.Strange that we've not heard anything about it before now.. I mean the incident happened 3 years ago.
A great shot is when you go for it and pull it off. A smart shot is when you don't have the guts to try it. ~ Phil Mickelson.

He is not looking for money from the charity, he is looking for money from the charity's insurer.

John Daly is such a sad story, one that I am quite frankly sick of hearing about, but sad nonetheless. I am not shocked or surprised that Daly's name is tagged to a story like this. To me this seems like the icing on the cake. I understand that it wouldn't be the charity handing out the settlement, but when a childrens charity is involved in something like this, Daly is going to come out as the bad guy.

Maybe he should sell one of his homes and that massive RV to make ends meet. I think a great idea for the GC's next show should be Daly living with people who are actually struggling financially and see how bad life really can be.

Because he is the bad guy. This story is just disgusting. Stuff happens on golf courses where there are thousands of spectators. Individuals are responsible for their own actions. If he's going to sue anyone, sue the woman. If this sort of nonsense succeeds, goodbye to professional golf because who'd want to pay the insurance premiums so that they can be protected from greedy, opportunistic scum who think it's a chance to get back some of the momey they've wasted on alcohol and gambling?

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Has John even commented on this? somehow I dont think the whole story is being told by the simple headline "John Daly suing childrens charity"
Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

what big john needs is a swift kick in the balls, and i'll be more than happy to deliver it to him. he's a grade a bag-o-douche. always will be, always has been.

WTF

I always thought he was a big hearted guy........ guess not. Im sure we are only getting 1 side of the story though. Regardless.... why would he even consider suing a charity when he is in a image rebuilding stage? Makes you wonder...... doesnt it?

whatever. when he is contention in a tournament I might care about him again.

In his "prime" that usually happened about once every five years, but at his age now I doubt it will happen.

Look at it this way. If the same tournament officials were warned that JD was say.....throwing clubs into the gallery and wanted him removed and they did nothing about it. When the 4th happened and he hurt some neurosurgeon's wrist. I bet that surgeon would be suing the same people.

Now being he is relying on sponsor exemptions to get on any tour event this will sink him forever. Something tells me suing JN's charity is not a good career move in golf.

Whatever. Stupid all around. He should have stayed commited to his swing! LOLOLOLOLOL

Why has nobody else ever done this before, the woman jumping in front of him during his swing. Because it didnt happen, he's trying to make money off a charity, come on John, these are the same organizations that are giving you chances to play now because you're not good enough to get into tournaments on your own. Daly was fat and out of shape then, any injury was caused by that. As far as a crazy fan jumping onto the field of play, I think even if he did hit her, he wouldnt be liable as she was somewhere she wasnt supposed to be. Say if some nut ran onto a racetrack and got hit by a car and got killed. Sounds crazy but i think a couple years ago some nut at a formula 1 race ran out onto the track during the race protesting something, had something to do about where the race was held, political in nature im certain. He didnt get hit but come on would you run in front of a racecar? If you're an idiot maybe. Daly would have had tons of witnesses to prove that this lady was a nutcase if she did in fact run out in front of him so she would have had no case. It should be similiar to if someone runs out in front of you while you're driving, you cant stop immediately so it you hit them its an accident and you shouldnt be sued for it, it was their fault. If he hit her it would have been her fault.

This might or might not take into consideration the issue of this case. (who knows what really happened that will be figured out in court with witness testimony) But let's say at Daytona the race organizers know there is a turn that fan's cars somehow miss a turn in the parking lot and end up on the track. They do not correct the situation and then JD comes around in his stock car and runs into a fan's car on the track at 200 MPH and injures himself.

Bottom line JD hires attorneys and they do whatever they can to represent JD's interest. Most attorneys I know, that are acting in a fiduciary interest of their client, would sue all parties involved with the event. That is what they are paid to do. Sorry like golf, the law has no black and white rules. You play the playbook you have in front of you.

    • Day 58 - 2024-11-27 Some quick 90-yard shots on a particular hole… before a lesson and testing out multiple Foresight Launch Monitors on GSPro.
    • Day 209 (27 Nov 24) - Easy session with the LW - short pitches replicating greens side up and downs. Finished up with the 7i and hard foam balls - making 1/2 to 3/4 swings with deliberately slowed tempo…from varied lies.
    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
