Right now the only club slot i need to fill is in between my 3-wood and 4-iron. I am not sure which club i should buy: the 3H or 4H. Which do you think would fill the gap better? I'm afraid a 3H would be to close to my 3-Wood, but then I'm afraid that a 4H would be to close to my 4-iron.

Thanks

I have a 2H and a 5 Wood as my fairway woods in my bag. Took out my 3 iron and use my 4 as the long iron. Has worked for me and am happy.

I prefer a 3 hy. Most are around 21* give or take, and I find mine to be really versatile and easy to hit..

I would say try the 3h, I have a 3wood, then 2H (17) 3H (20) 4H (23) and then go to my 5 Iron....although your handicap is better than mine, I would say my 3 wood is my 225 club off the deck, then 210-215 2H (basically its my 5 wood), 3H is around 195-205, and then 4H is 180-190 (although I smashed one about 205 last week), hope that helps!

I would go with the 3H. Your 3W is probably a 15* and the 3H will probably be around 19*. The loft difference and the difference in size of head should give you different distances with each. I currently bag a 4W (17.5*) and 3H (19*) and I have about 25 yards difference in these clubs.

As others have said, probably a 3H. Test a couple with different lofts, and find one:
* That you like.
* That approximately splits the yardage difference between 3W and 4i.

Focus, connect and follow through!

My 4 hybrid is a replacement for my 3 iron. I guess it all depends on how well you hit your 3 wood. Personally, a 3 hybrid couldn't replace my 3 wood and would fall more into the 5 wood range. In fact, I'm considering a 3 hybrid or another wedge as I only carry 13 clubs at the moment.

I had the same dilemma....I decided to be a bit different and yank out the 3w all together and go with a 3h and 4 h. I like my 3w a lot but when I kept track of how many times I hit the 3w and how many times I hit the 3h during a normal round ay my 'home course'...it wasn't even close. Sure there are times I wish I had the 3 in the bag but I couldn't imagine not having my 3h or 4h in the bag.

I would go 3h... fill that gap.

I carry a 5-wood (19*) and a 4h (24*) then 5 iron (27*)... just find what fits.

I had a similar situation. I find a 3h goes about 10m further than my old 3i (no longer in the bag), so I have a 20m gap between my 4i and 3h. My 3h flies pretty high though, about the same height as my 5i so I find my gripping down an inch on the 3h takes off about 10m so it fits in pretty well, and gives me a bit more versatility.
