Been working on implementing lag to my swing whilst trying to drive my right leg in more, and my head as level as possible. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

You're a 9.9. What good is great lag if you hit the ball fat, thin, and slice it?

Great photo - what flex is that shaft, BTW?

I really like the acronym for your wedges "Professional Open Series 690 52 & 60 degree". Yeah, I'm gonna use the the 52 degree POS on this one.

actually im not a 9.9, i originally put 99 and i guess you can no longer put it to 99 and they switched it to 9.9. too lazy to switch. but that is besides the point because my original post was seeking feedback on my lag, not my handicap. thank you

thanks and yeah, i've noticed the acronym as well :) they're definitely not bad for being knock offs, even though the only thing that is a POS is my lack of practicing with them ;) i forget what the flex is, its without a doubt not a stiff shaft, though...

I think it really looks good, you look like you're really driving with your hips... that lag is sick too

But what do I know

good lap, pity you use a Nike Juice golf ball though. Its like stepping onto the first tee and letting everyone know you don't care about your score.

hahaha yeah, it's not really what i prefer, it's just the ball that i have the most of. i usually don't mind what ball i use, i just happen to have alot of free nike juice's from my dad's friend. it doesn't take a lot to figure out why he chose to give them away, though...

i appreciate it man, and who care's bout the handicap, right? good advice is good advice, the handicap does not entirely determine your knowledge of the game/swing. hell, my dad doesn't even pay attention to his handicap one bit and his swing has been praised by our head club professional. last time i checked i think he was a 14 or 15 and he definitely doesn't play like a 14 or 15, he just rarely plays or posts his scores. he's a range rat like me. he and as well as my other instructor take all the credit of my swing progress. whether you're a high or low handicapper, feedback is still feedback and i highly appreciate you taking your time looking into my swing.

man people make such a big deal about lag. Just hit the ball in the center of the clubface 4/5 times... then get the ball in the hole. the scorecard doesnt say how you make birdie or par... it just says birdie or par. I haven't played a player with beautiful lag that I haven't beaten to shreds with my somewhat simple, yet highly functional, golf swing. Sure I don't hit it shit that lovely elevator ball flight all the time, but the object of the game is to get the ball in the hole... not make it fly pretty in the air. spend the time you are spending taking pictures of your lag on the putting green... then enjoy giving the beautiful swingers an ass beating, a la walter hagen. just my two cents.

cool story man, but ive already understood that concept all along. i made it a personal goal to work on lag for a certain ball flight/distance, it's just what i wanted. i'm 17, it's not like i spent years working on lag. more like a a week or so. of course those other elements of the game highly contribute to scoring, lag is just something, once again, i wanted to implement in my swing.

lag does not dictate your ball flight, speed, or anything that matters in the slightest. all it does is show how flexible your wrists are. your impact position is all that matters in the golf swing. trying to force lag is the fastest way to hitting the ball thin and out to right field. a swing that's synchronized and has a repeatable tempo will provide you with all the lag that gravity dictates for that specific shot. in fact, the more you try to lag the club artificially, the shorter and more inconsistently your balls are going to fly.

Yeah, the answer here is "nothing can be said." It's a picture, and there's some lag, yes, but none of that really matters. Lag comes naturally through good mechanics. Trying to create lag is a dead end. In fact, you can tell more about a swing with the position of the club after the strike than before.

The frames from perpendicular to the ground to impact would be more interesting to see.

Actually they say that there is a direct correlation between the angle change from the backswing to the downsing, with power.

who says that? i've never heard it. look at all the lag paula creamer has at the initiation of her downswing, her club almost touches her arms it's so exaggerated. i haven't seen any girls who have more lag in their downswing than her. so by all means, she should be demolishing the rest of the ladies in driving, right? wrong, she's not top 50, nor even top 100. she is #129 in driving avg., but she has the most lag.

    • Day 259: did mirror work while watching TV. Trying some wrist feels while trying not to lose the lower body stuff.
    • Day 3 (5 Apr 25) - long day with setup and rehearsal for band’s church service gig tomorrow.  Got home to hit a very chippy wedges (from about 10ft to out to 40yds or so).  Focus was simple - feel the bounce and quiet hands.
    • Day 187 - 2025-04-05 Got my time in today. Hoping to get a little more time in tomorrow, though. May get there early.

    • While on vacation in Punta Cana a few weeks ago I played with rental clubs, Mizuno Pro 245's with KBS Tour Lite steel shafts. Surprisingly, I was blown away, not only by the distance, trajectory and dispersion I was getting but also about how soft and buttery they felt. It got me thinking.... IT'S TIME FOR NEW IRONS! Just yesterday, at my local Golf Galaxy, I tested them again side by side with the JPX Forged (recommended by the Mizuno rep who happened to be there) which also felt pretty good. Not as buttery soft as the 245's but they did produce slightly better numbers on off-center hits. Also, I haven't played with forged clubs with steel shafts in 10 years thinking I was getting too old and that I needed the lighter weight but these clubs with that shaft felt really, really good. So that's my long and drawn-out intro to my question: Does anyone here at TST play with either of these clubs and if so, what's your opinion?
