I apologize from the "get-go" if I'm beating a dead horse here, but has anybody used these balls? I found one two days ago on my local course and it was kinda scuffed so I just through it in my bag to use as a shag balls. I had never heard of these so I "googled" them and found them out to be some kind of non-conforming distance ball. I haven't hit the ball but was just wondering if anybody had. Their gimmick is the ball is slightly smaller in diameter and a bit heavier for more roll. Yes, I realize they're USGA illegal, but I still am curious as to their performance. Thanks.

I live on a course, and I find on average 3-4 balls per day, walking the dogs etc, and I have lived here for five years, so that equates to a few thousand balls passing through my possesion and I have never heard of that brand.

Maybe they are only distributed in certain states? like KY lol.

Well, this is the first one I've found so I googled them, and evidently they're a "big" company. I found about 55 listings for these balls on Ebay as well, and they're in the range of 20-25 bucks/dozen. Oh, and some of those listings were in Florida... :)

In case anyone is interested, I went and played a quick nine today and hit the "Bandit" golf ball that I found.
And now for the results...drumroll please:

It indeed goes farther. The carry wasn't much farther but the thing rolls forever. I guess its because it weighs a little more. Like I said, they're not USGA legal, but if you're just out having fun, you might oughtta give them a try. Heck, those little chippers people use are illegal too!

I tried hitting a chipper once but it barely went 100 yards - what a POS - maybe I should have used Bandits!?!?

The chippers I'm referring to are designed to be used about 10 yards or less of the green, they have about the same loft as a 7 iron but look like a putter(with loft that is); but with bandits you maybe able to use them about 6.5-13 yards off the green because...

THEY ARE 30% LOOOONNNNGGEEERRRRR

I agree, which makes it even funnier

You ever play arrowhead around Cadiz? I've been considering it. I played Novadell right outside Hopkinsville Tuesday, that's a nice course if you enjoy links style golfing.

No I haven't although that's right in my backyard.

Around here I've played Futures in Puryear TN, Miller Memorial in Murray Kentucky, and Calvert City Country Club in Calvert City Ky.

And I've played all the courses in the Owensboro area except for the Summit CC. Which is weird since I was a busboy/waiter there all through high school...

I'm pretty sure ol' Jack Hamm uses that kind of ball while hitting 400+ yard drives over mountains

How come you never see Jack Hamm on the long drive competitions on tv?

I bought a dozen Bandit balls. Gonna try them out when the snow melts.

Drugs are bad. M'kay.

I change my swing every time I don't shoot par for the course.

    • Fantastic selection! And very little driving between them. Fingers crossed the weather is good to you.
    • Day 20: 2026.01.22 Hit about twenty balls at the range. Quietly pleased with how the changes are bedding in, surprsingly consistent ball flight. Hoping to film over the weekend to capture new movement.
    • You might also consider a tune-up lesson. Check and see if anything in your set-up or basic swing is holding you back. I have been playing for more than five decades, but on occasion I've had to make swing tweaks due to age, loss of flexibility, etc. You don't have to reinvent your swing. A couple of static set-up changes might really help out.
    • Good advice. In general, you want to take whatever weight you are lifting to a couple of reps before failure, for muscle growth. There are other tactics for PT related stuff. I would trust your PT person.  For muscle growth, you can go like 30 reps to failure. It is tougher to gauge. Also, it takes 2x as long to do the same number of working sets per week if you are doing 15 instead. It is way less efficient, but your case is special because of the injury/aggravation to the hip.
    • Several years ago I got paired with a twosome of golfers, one of which had a maybe 5-year-old son with him. The kid had a putter and a 7i with him, and on some holes he would drop a ball near the green, chip on, and putt. If the kid started to get distracted, the dad would ask, "Do you need to rest?" The kid would nod yes, and then take his dad's seat riding in the cart for a couple of holes. It was a slow day, and the kid was polite and friendly. We got through 18 just fine. (If it had been a crowded course day, I'm sure it would have been less pleasant.)
