Recently I've been practicing with blades and I really like them.

I'm thinking of swapping my PW for a 9i blade since the PW is pretty de-lofted.

Are blades more accurate than cavity backs? Will I lose much forgiveness by removing my pw?

How about replacing your PW with a 48* Vokey Spin Milled ?

Blades are not more accurate than cavity backs and vice versa. If you hit the ball in the center of the face they are going to be equally accurate as far as line goes but will have different feel, distance (potentially) and controllability (again, potentially) etc. Now if you don't hit it consistently one punishes you more than the other. I would think that you would be better off doing what Gerald said and get a separate wedge from one of the many manufacturers out there. Personally, I love the Vokeys. Good luck to you

Not necessarily:

But on dead center hits - our shot pattern was about 1/4 the size of the cavity back pattern ! In other words, the perfect shots were much better !

i dont see a problem with this considering most brands (ei. titleist, mizuno, nike) are making combo sets because alot of people are looking for exactly what you are. if you know how to play them they should be more accurate. the best thing you can do is probably put slightly stiffer shafts in your short irons because the inaccuracy comes from aiming wrong and the variable that the flex of the shaft creates. dont go overly stiff but find a medium for you and go off of that because you want something stiff but not too stiff that it causes alot of side spin

Replacing your FP PW, which I believe to be 45°, with a blade PW isn't a bad idea. Cobra's set of blades is the Pro MB, and their PW is only one degree shy of yours. I suspect it will integrate well, if properly fit. You should be able to find a demo day from http://demoday.snakebytes.info/ (just so you know I'm not completely awful with a map: the site says UK only, but has a separate link for demo days in Ireland). If they think it should be 47 instead, they could tell you that.

I think it's a far better idea than replacing it with a 48° of any brand wedge, due to that it would introduce a 7° gap.

A new vokey would cost too much for me to get.

The 9i is an old sam snead blade, so it's a bit shorter and has more loft than a normal 9i so it's more like a modern PW.
I strike it really well, I strike my PW well but I heard blades are more accurate so I was thinking of putting in the bag.

I'll try it out the next time I play.

I think it;s a good idea.

I've been working in Musclebacks to my bag.

of course I have a 56* blade

Is your swing that consistent that you feel the accuracy of your PW is holding you back?

I'd be more concerned about how adding the old blade PW will affect your feel, considering it's shaft, grip, flex and swingweight are not a match for the rest of your clubs.
