You've probably seen our review: http://thesandtrap.com/accessories/pure_grips_review

I just got an email and the PURE website has been redone and to celebrate, they're giving 25% off orders with the code "newlaunch25."

Just thought y'all might like to know. I used to be hard-core in favor of New Decade Multicompounds, but LOVE the PURE Pro. Gonna put 'em on my Miuras when they arrive tomorrow, too. I have no financial interest in the company at all - just like their products a lot.

Tell them The Sand Trap sent ya.

Hey iacas, right now I have some golf pride dd2 grips, and I think they are .600 round. They may be too big for me as it is really hard to touch my hand around the club with my middle and index finger. Will the .58 round pure grip be just enough smaller for me to really grip them in my fingers?

Thanks

If you got .580 grips and put them on .600 shafts the grips would actually be thicker. .580 is the inner diameter of the grip (to match the shaft diameter). The outer diameter of the two grips is the same is the same, and the .580s weigh about 4.5 grams more due to the added material (i.e. the hole in the middle of the grip is smaller with the same outside diameter).

You'd want the .600 grips (check your shafts to make sure that's what your shafts are - that's where those numbers come into play) and then just stretch the grips to thin them up a little bit. You can stretch the PURE grips pretty easily.

How would I stretch them? And that would make them less thick permanently? I usually just send them in, but this seems so nice and easy, not to mention the availability to swap them when I need to.

You... stretch them. You pull (or push, I suppose) the grip farther down the shaft, which stretches the grip, and then you let off the air so the grip "deflates" (my word - I think you know what I mean) and "sticks" to the club. It'll hold. The grip will be "thinner" permanently.

I've installed PURE Pro on all of my clubs and simply love the grips. Removal of the old grips took some time, cutting up and removing the tape. Installation of the PURE grips took me 10-15 seconds on each grip.

I love how they feel, got that tacky rubber feel, but not too much. If you believe the reviews, the grips should also last you a long time.

I recieved a "sample pack" from PURE so I could see which one I liked the most. I built my Hybrid, so I used this club for grip testing. So far, the only grip I installed was the PURE PRO. I like it to much to change and test another grip. It's awesome! Having a gripless shaft, installation only took 10-15 seconds and I haven't seen any movement. I say give them a try.

Hey zeph. I'd love to try the Pure Pro Grips and was wondering how you got them delivered to Norway and at what cost. Obviously, excessive shipping charges would encourage me to get the clubs regripped at my local proshop. Is there a European dealer?

I paid the following a week or two ago:

Item# , Purchase Options: Gun & Attachment with 13 Pure Pro Grips
Subtotal : $70.74 USD
Shipping and handling: $19.95 USD
Total: $90.69 USD

Arrived very quickly, within a week I think. Didn't check if European dealers exist, $20 is a good price for shipping. I bought it while they had the offer on grips + gun for $70. With the 25% off coupon, it is $67 for 13 grips and gun, plus shipping makes it $87.

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
