Wow. Just wow. 20 yards longer than anything I'd ever hit. Not the best feel on the club face and goes a little too straight, but for distance and accuracy as good as anything I've ever hit.

3 Wood: Titleist 909R 14.5 degree

hahaha I just did :P
Is this the driver Bubba Was using in the PGA?
I still have my doubt that the driver would be 20yards longer. Thats one 99% of people say when they go out and try new clubs.

Anyways, I think we have a Ping demo night in a few weeks near my home course. Ill have to give it a hit.

It could potentially add 20 yards, but that's assuming the head shaft combination was just better fit for the player than their current driver. Assuming shafts are about the same, etc., no you won't gain 20 yards. A low handicap player especially likely won't gain much distance as their swing is probably pretty good already and they're likely playing with good equipment already.

I got to hit one today and have to say that for me it wasnt 20 yards longer. To be honest, I like the feel of the G-15 a bit better and for whatever reason I was hooking it a bit. I am assuming they have moved weight around in the head a bit and it wasnt really all that great for me. If you gained 20 yards I would buy it right away at your HCI

In the bag:
G-15 9 degree with Proforce V2
Ping Anser V-2
MP-52 3-PW, JPX-800 Pros 3-PW
52-08, 56-11 Vokeys G-15 15.5 3W G-10 5W

It is very hard to believe that a hc 2.6 with a matching driver, adds 20 yds with a stock from the rack recreational golfer's GI driver ......

Might be good for sombody that hits the ball very low, but I did not like it.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

[QUOTE=CrazyXGolfer;511270]So your telling me im going to be hitting my 7 Iron about 190 yards?

Although you mis-read the title, consider that manufacturers and those who peddle their equipment tend to claim "10 yards further," on each successive line of clubs. So, why do I hit a G5 driver the same distance as a G15?

Or maybe I should simply acquire a set of TaylorMade irons. I'm sure their 2-iron... I mean 5-iron would give me about 210 yards on every shot now.

    • Congrats! Day 551, May 6, 2024 Played 18 holes with @DrizZzY hitting irons only and playing the white tees. No really "bad" shots, and a few really, really good ones. Finished on nine (they send us off 10 in May) with… a 197-yard 5I uphill and an 84-yard sand wedge to three feet.
    • Ahh the old classic "nobody agrees with me so I don't want to talk about it anymore"
    • @anaveragehacker, you’ve been ignorant this whole time and now you’re being disrespectful. Not a great combo. You asked what the rules were and we told you. You complained about them and we told you why they were the way they are. The “who is the committee?” Question has been answered a few times. Dave and I are Rules Officials and the other people replying know the rules far better than you, so the fact that we are all disagreeing with you should say something. this thread is going nowhere and your original question has been answered several times.
    • What is this committee I keep hearing about? We’re a small league playing at a county course. And these are temporary issues that may be gone in a day or two. In any case, I wish more people agreed with me. It seems that trying to convince golfers to modernize rules is like trying to change the Bible. You guys are so serious it kind of proves my point. Other sports make adjustments for  field conditions etc during lower level play. This isn’t life and death here, it’s sport. No need to keep arguing. I have my opinion and you have yours.
    • Yeah, I agree that some of the charts are hard to make sense of. That short game chart is showing how often a short game shot ends up within a certain distance. The orange bar is all shots, the green bar is for shots within 25 yards, and the blue bar is for shots between 25 and 50 yards. I just play around with all of it and will figure it out. I would suggest just diving in and see what jumps out and work on that.
