I've seen guys bring their bag (entire setup) to a pitch and putt where the longest hole is 80 yards. Weirdness.

Last winter in Buffalo (when the only golf to be had was on a simulator) my friend and I went to the putt putt course inside one of the domes with regularity. We just brought our putters and golf ball of choice. Cheap, fun, and actual putting practice.

I've often wondered what kind of looks I'd get at the local putt-putt course with my pricey putter and tour balls....

Surprisingly, no one cared. Or I wasn't the first to think of it and it's done all the time. Decent practice.

Yeah, but bring your lob wedge to cut the corner on the dog leg and people get upset. Stupid double standards.

If you want to be really classy, bring your own putter and ball to a minigolf "course". Not those real minigolf courses, but the Putt-Putt kind.

I made that mistake the first time I played a local par three course here about 15 years ago. Felt like a COMPLETE ASS walking around with a bag full of clubs. All I would have needed was a putter, PW, and maybe a 9i.

In the bag

Yeah, if I want to use a wedge to carry the 1st fairway, over all the other holes and onto the 18th green it should be my prerogative!

      I love Rancho Park too!  I don't get out there much due to the 405 issues (Im in Santa Clarita) but I do try and get out there every now and then...last time out was in January where I eagled 17 (left green) with a holed 145 yard third shot ! Rancho is a great course! And at 24 bucks weekday with the city card, an absolute steal!

      I have played PGA West, at least one or two courses in there, but I am not sure if I've played any of the courses used to host the Hope. I played a course that I think both isn't PGA West and is host to the Hope a few years ago, possibly at a TST outing, but I'm not sure if I'm thinking of the right one. I have played Rancho Park plenty of times (exactly half of my sub-80 rounds were there!) and Wilson/Harding.  Rancho Park might be my favorite golf course among those I've played more than a half dozen times.   Hopefully I'll get a chance to play TPC Scottsdale, maybe this August or September, and at some point I think there was a PGA Tour event in Las Vegas, I should get up there and play those course(s).
