I went from the 735.CMs to the 710MB 3-P and I have to say they are just as easy to hit as the 735.CMs were (if you can consider them easy to hit). I have a 710CB 2 iron and I hate it with a passion. You can see the cavity at address and it doesn't mesh well going from the CB 2 iron to MB 3 iron. I haven't played the CBs from 3 down so all bets are off.

I love the 735 cms and if I had my druthers, I would have have included the 6 and 7 iron into the blade mix. I think Genericity has a good point to try the MBs all the way through as another option.

I have definelty considered just getting the full set of 3-PW of the MBs, I'll see how the lower irons feel. If I really need a 2 iron I still have my mp-33 2 iron. I made a post in a different thread on the 2 iron issue. I'm thinking the MB PW is a loft of 47 and my other two wedges are 56 and 60 ... I might as well not get the CB 2 iron and maybe look at getting a Vokey 52 degree wedge fill that gap.

... Currently I'm deployed and when I left I was a 2.1 handicap. I'll be gone for half a year about and during that time swing gets a bit rusty. I'll only be stateside for a few months then...

I did several years active duty in Marine Corps, and later retired from reserves. When it comes to deployments in and out and no golf time, I would stick with the clubs you have.

On deployment, you may lose weight, build more lean muscle. Why not come back, get your swing stabilized, and then go for the custom fit. Just a suggestion. Semper fi, and be safe!

I'm Air Force, and plan on lifting a good bit while here. Trying to stretch as much as possible to keep flexibility, but yeah going to definetly hit multiple buckets before getting fitted and play a few rounds during R&R;

100% agree - not to thread jack or anything but that setup would have been sweet for the 735CMs. I always hated when I grabbed my 7 iron and it wasn't a blade. BTW: I will never ever ever ever sell my 735CMs - way too nice of a set to part with. The only thing I like more about the 710MBs is the blade length is constant. Hitting a longer (from toe to heel) 3-4 iron than the rest of the set always bugged me a tad.

I really think you should check out the custom line of KZG. a lot of people say their forgings are very similar to the feel of Mizuno and i know that they are made through a better process than mizuno. they are a bit pricey but eveyone i know who plays them, absolutley loves them and keeps getting new ones. They have a really sweet zo blades that i just got fit for and are really great for a low handicap to scratch golfer because of its zero offset. but i do like the MB's. check out KZG for sure though.
