It was interesting to see his interview at the Deutsche Bank today ...saying "one plane"....I turn back and turn through as fast as I can

It was an interesting interview. Johnny Miller said to him, "You have one of the flattest swings I've seen on a tall man." And then they got into the discussion of it being a one plane swing followed by the comment above. All the comments above aside, those pictures clearly show that Kuchar has a flatter swing than most of his fellow pros.

i went to middle school with Matt in fl and knew him somewhat. we had a couple of classes together. i remember even in the 7th grade he talked about becoming a famous golfer and i a baseball player - kudos to him.  i moved away (nc) and when i came back in the 9th grade he went to a different high school so i never kept up with the kid. funny looking back now, wish i would of asked for golfing tips when we were12

He is strange. That rocking back on his heels thing before he takes it back is unique.

Yes very strange... and one of the best players on Tour. He should play more like an 80's guy like Dave2512 and be less strange.. Lol!!

He pretty much did finishing his round yesterday. That shot off the rocks looked exactly like what I do.

Um Yea... Take a long look at Kuchar's scorecards this week... strange indeed. He should be perfect and shoot back to back 64's...Lol Like I said. I like his game..solid.

He certainly looked solid when I followed him around one an afternoon. . .

Just think that rocking thing he does is unique. Sorry you missed the lame humor.

Look at DTL views. He moves back on his heels a little right before he takes the club back. It is subtle. I am not implying he has a flaw or anything just seems to be something he does.

Not at all, and you are exactly right about nuances.  Which practically every player has...  Hes got a great game, hes one of the good guys... and simply saying..

it's easy to nitpick and tear down... if people dont shoot 64 daily..  or they dont all swing like Adam Scott.  ya gotta just enjoy these type of players... even if they are "strange"....

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
