It's a pretty good driver. I know I might buy it once it drops down some more lol. I think there are a few shaft options, 2, maybe but just go try it out and take it out on the course if you can!

I don't have the SuperTri, but I have the R9 460 driver - the SuperTri's predecessor. I went with the R9 because I couldn't justify the SuperTri's price tag. And I'm glad I did. The R9 is a fantastic driver! It is long and pretty forgiving. The only other advantage the SuperTri would have given me is moveable weights. I don't use the adjustibility on the R9 as it is, I can't imagine having more adjustibility options that I wouldn't use.

That's my two cents. Think about if you are really going to use the adjustibility features on the SuperTri. If not, save a couple hundred bucks and look at the R9.

What I Play:

Hy: Callaway FT 3Hy

Irons: AP1 4-PW

Putter: Newport Studio Select 2.7

i'd personally find an older 430cc R9. I've hit those before and its a fantastic driver.

I hit a demo a couple months back at the pga store and I wasnt to thrilled about it. I really wanted one but was waiting on price and now I really dont care. It may have been because it was a demo model not setup for me specifically so I will try it over the winter again when the price drops to see if I can find the combo I like. I do better with my 09 burner with no adjustability.

Haven't tried the SuperTri, but I heard some good reviews from my peers.

I just switched away from the R9 back to R7 (my old one). I felt the R9 was too heavy and I hate the ball flight when I hit one with it.

hit the r9 460 because its only 2 bills at golf galaxy..

havent bought it yet but will own it before next spring. Demo'd it and really enjoy hitting the club. Price is cant beat as well. I would imagine supertri is even better but I would wait a little longer eh... taylor made is about to come out with something new which will lower the tri's price

I got the R9 460 in a pinch a few weeks back for 199.99 at Golf Galaxy. I'm really happy with it. I like the adjustable face, but the weights as well? To me, that's a bit of overload. I'm a decent golfer, but I am still at the point where the less I have in my brain as I swing a golf club, the better.

Current Gear Setup: Driver: TM R9 460, 9.5, Stiff - 3W: TM R9, 15, stiff - Hybrid: Adams Idea Pro Black, 18, stiff - Irons: Callaway X Forged 09, 3-PW, PX 5.5 - SW: Callaway X Series Jaws, 54.14 - LW: Callaway X Series Jaws, 60.12 - Putter: PING Redwood Anser, 33in.

    • Day 297 6-28 Got some swings in early this morning, busy day. Worked on low point control, skills work.
    • Day 2: played 18. Driving was decent to good. Approach play was meh. Short game meh, and putting solid. Added up to an 81. Needed more tap in pars and more birdie chances.
    • Day 8 (28 Jun 26) - Worked with face position at address and overall setup - open/neutral/closed - and setting up for resulting shot shapes - using 8i and hard foam balls.  It was abbreviated as the thunder began to rumble. Got in about 20 swings before calling it.
    • Tale of two swings.  Swing 1: Slightly outside takeaway (hands move outside of target line) only to allow trail elbow over collapsing at P4. Doesn't take much to overdo it for the trail elbow collapse to only further exaggerate. That's death. Swing 2: Hands stay slight in at takeaway for a much better trail elbow condition at P4. This is a hard sell from an instinct perspective. More focus on un-weighting and re-weighting of lead foot to unlock a bit more mobility of hips and torso. A major flaw that creeps up often is me swinging flat footed and becoming overly armsy-collapsy as a result. Got reminded of this the hard way during my 2nd round match for club net championship. Was cruising along 2up until I made the turn. Then lost the swing for next five holes. Andy was playing good enough to capitalize. By the time I regained my swing on 16th, it was too late. Even Andy was like "That was a gift". Obviously that stings because have played well enough lately. Should have closed him out of the game comfortably with a few holes to spare. Shoulda woulda coulda. Tough lesson. Damn. P.S. I know the swings look very similar but trust me there is a difference.
