Appreciate the support guys. It's great to see him finally hitting some shots higher rather than hitting line drives. Even though that shot was a little heavy, skews the pic a bit, he has always had a good flying wedge. This can almost work against when playing because he'll keep the wedge, not get the weight left and chunk it. I'm glad he hasn't figured how to flip and save the shot. He likes doing drills and I'll eventually show him this one,

He's about to turn 12 and just over the summer started to get out regularly. His goal is to play in junior tournaments next summer. I told him that's a huge goal going from just playing a couple holes once a week to playing in a tournament. He loves to practice and he spent four hours last Saturday working on his technique and doing drills. Like I said, he struggles with athleticism and can't "feel" where his body is, so for him to stay centered and get the hands in is a huge accomplishment. He's a very smart kid and understands the concepts. He's learning through hard work that conceptionally understanding the knowledge and applying them are two completely differennt things.

Pretty cool to have my swing on here. My first post btw

Just got my Casio Ex-FH 25! Some updated swings. Right leg stays bent too long but I like the length and depth of the back swing.

Your position at impact is uber leet. What are you working on now?

The only thing I can say is that it looks like theres a lack of "tucking of the butt" at the end?

looks great, what kind of ball flight are you getting?

Going way out on a limb, I'll guess he plays a high-ish draw.

Looks great. I actually try and picture your take away in my mind when I'm having trouble with my club head breaking inside and under the plane. Which is often. Sorry, is that weird?

Yes, that is next thing to really work on, and maybe the toughest. My right leg needs to stay straighter thru impact/follow through rather than staying flexed. Get more of the "jumping" feeling.

Med-high push-draw, misses lately have been pushes.

Not weird at all, I try to picture Charlie Wi. Check out any video of Charlie and try to match up where his hands at different points in the back swing. I have been working hard on the back swing the past few months. Many thanks to Dave, Erik and James in Erie. Concetrating on pressure point #4,(left arm, left pec). Feeling it stay low,(more on the pec rather than under the armpit), because I like to roll that left forearm. So, keeping that pressure gets the hands in and gets the left arm to swing across my chest, limits the amount my left forearm can rotate. When I first started this "feel", it felt like I was making a half back swing. I'm getting depth, rather than width.

This swing thought seems to work for me, there are a few others that can achieve similar results. Thanks for the support guys!

That explains why your card couldn't write fast enough and skipped a few frames in your last submission. Class 6 is all you need to get smooth video recording (20 MB/sec I think).

Mike's pushes come from a few subtle things but more generally, if your upper center also moves forward you'll tend to push the ball. That said, pushes don't necessarily leave the cone and tend to be a better miss than an over-draw.

Lots of very good things in this swing. Kudos.

Looks even better than you previous posted swing. You've improved your shoulder turn, hand are deeper, and arms have better extension through impact into follow through.

exactly on all accounts

My head tends to translate a bit forward from P4-P5, which leads to less secondary tilt. Leftover stuff from trying to "cover" the ball.

Another good image to have to get the club head and hands online at P2. Check out how "in" Erik's hands are, and how connected his arms are at P2/P2.5

Eek. Had almost forgotten about that video.

I say eek because that video, while it looks okay at first, contains a flaw I am glad to have corrected since then. Notice how steep my shoulders get even at P2 - my right shoulder almost "shrugs" up and my right elbow stays flexed a very long time in an attempt to take the hands in on the plane and to get the clubhead up as well. Rather than doing it with the folding back of the right wrist, I did too much of it with the shoulder. You can even see the shoulder "soften" or flatten a little bit around P2.5 or wherever I transition in these little short swings. So while the path is decent in these videos, that flaw alone was a pain and one I'm glad to have corrected. My shoulders have a tendency to get almost too steep, so I almost have to feel as if I'm swinging more horizontally. Go figure.

    • 26 Nov 24 -  It was not a record breaking round by any means, but rather a simple walking of the back nine today playing TBWB (two ball-worse ball) where the challenge is to play the worse of the two shots played - could be an errant drive from the woods, a tree knocked ball that is 100 yds farther back down the fairway, a nGIR ball as opposed to a GIR….the goal today was to stay no worse than bogie thru nine.  Managed to achieve that goal - bogied 7 holes with one dbl and one par to counter the dbl.  It’s about staying focused and not letting a bad shot or lie derail, but rather be an opportunity.
    • Day 208 (26 Nov 24)- Opted to walk 9 today (was the back nine as they had a huge group going off the front) but instead of it being persimmons and blades, I had the regular gamers but made it a TBWB (two ball-worst ball) round.  This really challenges on several fronts - ball striking to be as consistent as possible, course management from non-optimal lies and keeping your head in it as it can be depressing to nail a shot on line-on target and the second rattles the trees right and it’s over 50 yards back and that’s the one you have to play.  The goal was to be no worse than bogie overall (+9).  Finished the round exactly on the number with some solid recoveries, no penalty strokes and only one 3-putt.
