tell you what Shooter. Lets put this argument to rest.

I demand a video clip of you hitting your awesome 2 iron or 1 iron and we'll decide from there. How about that?

It's become clear that he's a troll. I haven't played with a 10 or 15 handicap that can hit the shots Shooter is claiming he hits with regularity, yet he's a 36.

If he's not a troll, and is genuinely a 36 'capper then he's delusional or dumb.

If they hit it like old men, I would very much like to be an old man. I agree with golfro, lets see this swing. Maybe we can send it to Tiger so he'll learn something.

i hate hybrids. they are for old men and hackers.

Old men and hackers, like the majority of guys on the PGA Tour, eh?

Nothing wrong with hitting a 2 iron 250 yards on a windy course, problem is I'll bet you can't do it. I love the way people talk about "shaping" the ball with long irons. If you can "shape" it with a 2 iron, you can do it with a hybrid.

"Tiger runs with a 2 iron doesn't he?

does he carry a hybrid?" (quote by the new guy, 'shooter mcgreenkeeper') as for the pros, guys like steve stricker and jim fruyric probably do caryy hybrids because they hit like old men[/QUOTE] Wow. Tiger runs with a 2 iron rarely*. He carries his 5 wood most of the time. If hitting like an old man gives you a combined 4 PGA victories this year, I WANT TO HIT LIKE AN OLD MAN.

I have an original ping eye 2 1 iron (forged club) that I use on exceptionally windy days if I need something about 240 and straight.....it stays low and runs forever. one of my favorite clubs to hit.

And that forged = good, even though all clubs used to be forged until the 70s.

What bizarre logic! MIckelson uses a hybrid. Clark and dozens of others do too.

This is like saying that a person who has been playing piano for 3 months should have a Steinway concert grand. The fact that Tiger has a 2 iron doesn't mean that anyone else should

Tiger rarely even has the 2 iron in his bag. It's mostly the 5 wood unless he is playing somewhere he needs to hit it really low. Like the British Open.

Nice evasive tactics there. Unless you live back in the 90s, I am sure your phone would have a camera.

    • Par is just a guideline, a reference for a hole or a course. At the end of the tournament the player that took less strokes to hole out is the winner, no matter how much it is against the Par of the course.  35 under par is not desirable? then change a few holes par.. make all reachable par 5's as par 4's.  Every hole below 350 is a par 3.. This will make those 7200 courses play "harder" with a par of 66..67.  (Ridiculous, let's just appreciate the amazing game this players have).
    • Didn't Mike Souchak (and possibly others as I'm just going by memory, but I'm pretty sure Souchak was first) shoot a 257 years ago?  It wasn't on a par 73, so it wasn't 35 under, but still.
    • I like Golf Pad app.  I do pay a little per year for the premium version.
    • Sounds like you're trying to prune gorse.  Seems as if gorse can actually throw its needles at anyone nearby!
    • BTW - The bush was ugly.  Anyway, in an attempt to add some clarity the ball was under some of the branches of the bush. But the bush was shaped in such a way where a left handed player could have played the shot without hitting any of the branches. A right handed player would have no chance. Thus my buddy/opponent I think was "reasonable" in addressing the ball with a flipped over 7 iron as he could have hit it lefty. .... There was, however, no guarantee that he would get good results as I've actually never seen him try to hit a ball in that manor in all the years I've played with him.
