OH BOY. Lavender????????? I can deal with the rest.

people these days actually make sly comments about the color of a certain clothing article...? what exactly is wrong with lavender? is it not macho or american enough or something?

Yeah-some serious insecurity going on here or something. Purple (lavender included) is the color of royalty. And besides, it looks great.

Now we can't have this sport going all queer on us. it's just not the american way. we need big oversized polo shirts with big parachute pleated pants.

Yeah-we've got a tenuous hold on our man-cards, a purple shirt might cause us to lose our fully exempt status...

Maybe you guys are being serious or maybe you're not, but if I was on the European team I'd be on the ground laughing right now.

I can hear Pavin's big Sunday speech right now: "Okay boys, we're rolling out the lavender this morning. Those Euros won't know what hit 'em. Hey, don't run off there Dustin, I've saved the best for last - I got my old friends at Cleveland to set each of you up with custom made Cleveland Vas clubs - that's right - even your clubs will be lavender. We'll be unstoppable, just like I was at Shinnecock!! Tiger, what's so funny - and yes Phil, they come in lefty."

I think they look really smart. It's the poses and the physiques of the mannequins that make them look effeminate. They're actually really nice clothes.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Stop hating. Just because you can't pull an outfit off doesn't mean it's the clothing's fault.

I'm not a fan of the over/under style of the Sunday belt slack, but beyond that no complaints here. I like the lavender/black combination for Saturday and I'm pretty sure admitting so doesn't automatically make me a homosexual.. but what do I know?

I didn't know Jim Tressel was going to be playing practice rounds with the US though. Must've been a late captain's pick.

Not having Boo Weekly and Anthony Kim on the team let the designers go in a different direction.

I am very very sorry if I offended anyone with my comment about lavender...I won't at this point tell you why lavender bothers me so much, and maybe some of you can really pull it off on the course, guess I should just shut up. But in my defense, I DID say I like the rest of the retro look! : ) My apologies.

    • Yes. If you choose to take the ball out of the bunker instead of taking maximum available relief… it costs a stroke.
    • I got another one today....Number 17. Par 5 that has water left and right on the layup. I smacked a drive down the left side and got a little lazy on the layup and fanned my 6 iron. With 112 to a crowned green I got it to 3 feet and birdie!  Only 5 and 15 is left for this year!
    • Maybe I didn’t explain this properly. Back and front can be confusing.  There was no place in the bunker that didn’t have 2-3 inches of rain water in it, except for a small spot on the slope nearest the pin. If I had dropped there I would be moving 6-7 feet closer to the hole. Since my ball was just inside the bunker, farthest side from the hole, I dropped one club length backward, which brought me out of the bunker. I could not have hit from that deep of water. Are you saying I would have had to take a penalty stroke due to rain water?
    • Day 550, May 5, 2024 Got a good hour in with a typical (for me) two-stick setup: pool noodle angled in front, yardstick on the ground angled 45° behind me.
    • Day 130: Cinco de Mayo Day 7/24 of Full Speed Spectrum training. Difficult training day after struggling to certify my warmup yesterday, and today. Finished 13 mph lower than my training speed on Thursday. Hope to hit some balls today.
