I've been doing some swing analysis with various software such as v1pro. That leaves the question as to how to setup a camera to record yourself. There are some mounting solutions on the internet that are pretty expensive. I did find a solution with just a spider tripod (~$5) that works great!

You can even carry around the bag and the mount doesn't come off. The only issue is that you need a taylormade bag or other bag with a top handle. It's just a matter of twisting the legs around the handle the correct way. Here's some pictures of my mount:

Nice find!

Since I don't have a top handle, I'm using this clipping stand for my cam:

works great, and with about EUR 14,- not expensive...

Also check out the gorilla pod by Jobi. They are small flexible tripods that can fit on anything. B&H; Photo/Video is a great photography site. Also, Amazon sells them. $15-30 depending on model. Some are small and some are larger to support dslr's and such.

Just use a tripod it costs $10. More adjustable and stable.

That was a tripod...

I have a $100 tripod (my DSLRs use a $600 tripod with a $700 ball head and clamp on it) and a $25 Joby GorillaPod for my smaller camera.

Agreed... Using a full size tripod would be much easier. It gives you so many more option. With that setup on your bag, it seems like the camera would be a little low.

Obviously some are really expensive (like the one iacas has apparently), but a cheap one would do just fine in this situation.

Yeah, the $1400 tripod I have supports $5000+ in DSLR lenses and camera(s). :)

For teaching, I use a $100 tripod to support a $300 camera. For playing golf, I have a $200 camera and a $25 GorillaPod.

If I take my driver out of the driver slot in my bag, my Kodak ZX-1 wedges perfectly into the slot. This is not ideal (should shoot from waist high), thus all my video recordings are shot too low.

I just assumed you were 9 feet tall.

I like the idea of something light enough that you'll actually take it on the course. Imagine a super slo mo video of knocking down the flagstick on a signature hole - here's what I did on my vacation . . .

    • When I lived in Oregon my friend had a rule. It could only be 2 of the following 3 items for us to play. If all 3 we’d skip.    1. Windy (20+) 2. Rainy (needs to be steady, rain in Oregon is pretty common) 3. Cold (less than a high of 50) This was a pretty solid rule.
    • Day 74: Worked on priority piece, full swing for about an hour this evening after dinner. Really need to exaggerate “hitting to right field feel” more than I think to produce slight push draw ball flight.
    • Day 170 - Got some good work in on the short game, as well as more work on my priority piece.
    • I searched around but didn’t see any other threads on this so I’ll put it here. I work in the laser industry and one of the applications has been additive manufacturing. The main market for the past 10 years has been SpaceX and the space industry and some medical applications. The new one I saw this week is 3D printing irons. Cobra and the company that they are using is marketing these irons pretty aggressively.  In talking with the folks in the booth at the trade show, the claim is that they can gain strength but reduce the weight to put it exactly where they want. The print of the iron is very cool. Mostly everything behind the face is a thin metal lattice and then in the heal and toe is a block of tungsten for weight.  I am old enough to remember the arguments about forged versus cast irons. I wonder if folks here will pay a bit more to get 3D printed irons.  They have a booth here where you can hit them but I hate lines and the line to do it is always long. I go again tomorrow, and if the line isn’t too long I’ll give it a try and report back.    Here are some pictures (I had some trouble uploading, I’ll try later)
