Welcome to the Sand Trap... I'm pretty new here too, and it's awesome to see what golf is like around the world. It's amazing to me to see so many people playing in places I wouldn't have thought of, like Singapore and Malaysia!

Hi nhwoj ! Yes in Asia itself is a booming golf place ! University to Junior school are taught golf as a sport. Next week Barcaly Singapore Open with US6 Million will be play with many World top players coming over here. Myself and my buddies will be doing field marshall or holding the SILENT Board....

Golf over her rocketed over the last 10 years, where 10 years ago was only for the Elite and very rich....now the Elite and super rich are into Yatching and owning Lambos and Ferrari !

We really have to thanks our government for promoting this sports ! In Singapore when we are 18years old, every male must do it National Services like serving 3 years in the Army, navy or Police force. After 3 years another 13 years reservist by return to camp once a year for National Service. But our government provide a place known as National Service Resort and Country Clubs for our golfing and other needs !

Check this out http://www.esrcc.com.sg/home.html

If you drop by Singapore, do PM me, i bring you around !!

Hahah.. UL... you should elaborate more about this event.

This tournament was organised by our forum (reddotgolfers.org) in Singapore. This tournament is a competition between 3 groups that we grouped according to which part of singapore we reside in. Singapore being "alittle red dot", we divided our island to West, Central and East, hence it is also know as A WCE competition

Thanks Uncle Lau. I am going back to HK for Chinese New Year and I plan to fly with my clubs, so for sure I will let you know if I go to Singapore. I love the chicken rice there! And I miss shopping along Orchard rd.

    • Yeah, @iacas, here’s another article echoing the last one you posted: CDC Studies 'Breakthrough' COVID Cases Among People Already Vaccinated COVID-19 vaccines are highly effective but don't always provide perfect protection. Some...
    • Lesson coming up on Thursday 4/15: After 5-6 weeks of really good ball striking (by my standards), full swing has regressed. After my last lesson, I had some backswing and transition weight/pressure shift feels that worked really well. I was hitting almost everything with center-face contact (within tolerance of a mid-handicap player), AoA and launch angles were all in the right window, ball was going where I aimed it, shot shape was reliable, distance improved. Then in my last round suddenly I had no idea where the ball was going to go. I have a little deal with myself, that if I can get my index below 10 and keep it there, I am getting fitted for a new driver, so I am a little miffed at what I experienced last round. I doubt there was a sudden change (maybe there was, who knows), but what I suspect is that there was some slower, less noticeable regression that was going on, that finally transitioned into a significant on course problem. Putting and short game are still good enough (nothing special), so that at least I am not losing any strokes with these elements. I've gone back to basics for now with practicing, and I don't want to over-self-diagnose any issues and use a shotgun approach to problem solving, so happy that I have a lesson this week to figure out what's gone wrong.
    • Day 483: Planned on filming my swing today, but it got too dark to get good exposure with slo-mo phone camera videos. Did some Covid-19 day-3, 4, 5 drills. Hit some balls with a 75% speed full swing, with lots of rehearsals between balls. Hitting the ball toward heel, launch angle a bit high, and start line not great. Something is awry at the moment, but I've got a lesson scheduled on Thursday so I'm not going to troubleshoot too much right now.
