What is the best way to tell what flex shaft I should have on my driver? I seem to hit my irons better and they have a S/R shaft which I believe is Stiff/Regular. The shots tend to go straighter whereas my driver shots tend to go left.

The shaft on my driver is a Fujikura Gold. Would moving to a stiffer flex shaft help?

Your irons are supposed to go straighter as they are shorter clubs. The driver will be less accurate for obvious reasons. If you want to ensure you are using the correct shafts for your swing speed, getting custom fit is the only way to go. Well worth the money. Wish I had done it years ago myself. Skip all the bad advice you will surely get and find a pro clubfitter in your area.

How long have you been playing?

A stiffer shaft does help control, but it can also hide deficiencies with a swing. I'd make sure that you have a solid swing before moving to a stiffer shaft.

I might look into it, I think the GG close to me can do that.

I started again a few months ago after 10-12 years of not playing

Wrong. Not even close to what I am talking about. Find a certified professional clubfitter. This person doesn't work in a golf big box store. Do yourself a favor and get all your clubs custom fit. Well worth the money in my opinion. Wished I had done it years ago.
