Good question. Probably not on the bag since I clean the green driving range mat goo off right away - when it comes off so much easier. Usually I use the flat part of the head of a golf tee.

Probably I'm looking for a catch all brush to use on my whole set while watching television. There are other brushes out there that work, but they usually have a vegetable peeler or gums scraper on one side.  I was just thinking out loud I suppose.

Please explain?

I wouldn't think they would be bad if you clean and dry your club after every shot before replacing the cover

Aside from wiping them after each shot, I like to thoroughly clean mine about once a week.  I used to use two buckets, one with warm water, one with soapy hot water, but after using simply a bucket of warm water once, that's all I ever use.  Oh, and an old toothbrush works way better than a nylon or soft brass brush.  But thats just my opinion.

Damn, some of ya'll take OCD to a whole new level! A half wet / half dry towel and quick wipe after each shot is the only thing I use.

Bucket

Washing up liquid

Hot water

Old toothbrush

Golf towel

I fill the bucket to about 2in of hot water and add washing up liquid. I dump my clubs into the bucket, making sure the water doesn't reach the hosels and leave them in there for 10 mins or so.

Then I grab the toothbrush, take whatever club comes out first and scrub it across the face, bounce and in the cavity. I then put the soapy club on the bathroom mat and move onto the next club.

Once all the clubs are scrubbed and soapy I run the cold tap and rinse the club head under the tap to remove all the soap and back onto the mat the club goes. Same for the rest of the soapy clubs.

Last thing I do is grab a golf towel and dry the club head, using the moistened section of towel to wipe along the shaft. The club is then leaned up against the wall and the rest of the clubs are dried similarly.

Then back into the bag with them all. Takes about 5 mins total and I do it only when I feel the clubs are looking a bit tatty so more often in the winter but more or less once per month in the summer.

5 gal bucket with water and a little dish soap, old toothbrush, and an old t-shirt.  Takes maybe 5 minutes to clean my full set.

Will soap and water work or will you need something stronger?

I fill a bucket with the hottest water my sink will produce, squirt in some dish soap, and let the clubs soak for 10 minutes.  When I pull them out I can wipe the range mat stuff off with just my finger.

Use brass brush to scrape out all the groves. Then polish with towel+glass cleaner. Wipe off grips paper towel+water.

Should I not use glass cleaner?

    • Day 33 (13 Dec 25) - Worked on weight shift and resetting the left heel during downswing (after listening to a discussion on Golf School this morning on PGA Tour Radio).  It centered on how Jack Nicklaus lifted his lead heel and how long driver champs do as well.  Taking cues from that discussion, worked an exaggerated feel of the left heel working doing some swing drill in the backyard using the 7i.  Wrapped up the session by hitting a few low bump and run shots in the backyard - keeping the process slow and exaggerated.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
