Hey guys,

Been trying S&T; on my own (via the book) for the past few months. I will probably get into evolvr since I recently bought a new camera :D. Anyway, wanted to post here to see if you guys can see anything obvious that I probably overlooked. Here is what I have noticed:

1. Head dips ever so slightly in backswing, then has to come back up on the downswing.

2. Right knee bends too far and doesn't "bank" toward the right leg on downswing.

3. Right heel needs to stay down longer on downswing.

4. Clubhead slightly inside hands on the backswing. Should be outside Rickie Fowler style.

Thanks in advance! Oh and sorry for the darkness.

camera angle is a bit off for DTL. Try to shoot it hip high along your stance line (this video looks down the midshaft line)

You've got alot of good things going on. That's a really impressive steep shoulder turn (haven't seen too many shoulder turns that steep)

Some things I think I see.

Your stance looks a bit closed
You side tilt a little too much too early (you already mentioned this with the head dipping)
Hips could turn more in the backswing--try to get your belly button facing the camera on the dtl view.
Your shoulders are much steeper than your hips. Ideally, I think your angle of your shoulder turn should be parallel to your hip turn.
Right heel leaves the ground early. Right foot should bank toward target as you push off with the right foot on the downswing.

Honestly man, I think its a very nice swing. Your club stays pretty much on plane the entire time, your hips clear nicely, and you seem to striker the ball with a clean descending blow. From that angle I don't see any major problems. You may be bent over a little to much. Try working on your posture a bit. How do you feel you are striking the ball?

1st off your bent to far over should be between 20-40 degrees (comes from clubs not properly fitted)
#2 shoulder are not square should be able to see left forearm slightly
#3 hands and shoulders move first not hips

thats all for now

it looks good for studying on your own. Evolvr would definitly help you perfect it alot more. They will help with your right leg on the downswing for one. Ive noticed in the stack n tilt book they dont discuss the right leg on the downswing at all, they have mostly everything else though

Thanks for the replies guys.

Yeah...my bad, that was actually the 2nd video I recorded and I had my toes on that towel there in the 1st vid.

I see what you are saying with the closed stance, HAVOC said this as well. Working on my posture would probably cure the hip angle issue. Also, I guess I am used to trying to "resist" with my hips like older way I was swinging. Good point.

I'd like to add that my misses are pushes/push fades. Caddie view would probably show that my hips are turning too much instead of sliding. When I hit the range again soon I'll try to add better quality vids.

Thanks man, my ballstriking is sporadic at times because of that head-dipping issue. Trying to compensate for that on the way back down creates problems...usually it is a heel strike and the occasional "S" word. I see what you mean with the bent over setup. I'll give the posture a look.

Yeah you aren't the only one to see a posture error. I must have payed it less attention because in the S&T; book it shows a more rounded shoulder view on setup. Will work on the closed shoulders.

Now, are you talking about the first move on the downswing? Cause looking at my left hip in the video I swear my hip moves before my hands on the way down...I dunno.

Nice swing! I wouldn't worry about the back swing stuff too much right now. The basic pieces are very good. I'd recommend going more linear, sliding the hips forward, keeping the left knee flexed longer coming into impact. Try to copy the way Mike's hips are working
