I think purcahsing a driver with such a high amount of loft is one of the biggest mistakes that you can make. A higher lofted driver is an absolute band-aid solution to your issue after viewing your swing and it is obvious that you don't hit the ball consistently enough to really benefit from the therotical idea of a higher lofted driver anyway. You will still have the inconsistent shots with the higer lofted driver that you suggested which, makes it clear that the issue is your swing. That said, you look like you have the ability to generate a good amount of power and with proper lessons, could probably develop a swing that is a little more mechanically sound and consistent.

I agree, Judging by the fact that you said you were still there your moment still isnt bad at all. You seem to have a "smooth" swing, not all robotic like most people I see with your stance. Id start by standing up straighter and standing closer to the ball.

Guys...

That's his setup . Seriously, that must be fixed before anything else.

Yes that setup needs a ton of work but when saying he should stand up straighter and closer to the ball should help with his setup....

well i played yesterday and hit nothing but hooks after the 1st hole. Hooks alll damn day. Yea I need work on one thing, driving. I forward press my irons, but nothing like this. For instance on 2 different par 5's, I was 100 yards off the tee and finished the hole with a 6 foot par attempt on both. Both were uphill 520-40 yrd par 5's. Sadly in that video, i hit one slight hook and 10 well hit balls. I got some work to do.

With a swing speed like yours, you might want to consider scrapping a lob wedge or hybrid and carry both drivers and decide which one to use depending on the conditions, thus maximizing the strength of your game.

Way too much loft for that swing speed. I'm about the same and I have a 6 degree driver.

did you get custom fitted for 6*?

I wouldn't have thought many pro shops would fit people for a 6* driver

    • I have trouble with vertigo on occasion, but have gotten nutritional and biofeedback tips to keep it at bay. Dehydration can help trigger v-like symptoms so one recommendation, along with maintaining overall hydration, is to start with 8 oz. of water early in the morning. A meta-analysis on Golf As Physical Activity indicated that golf is rated as a moderately intensive physical activity. This scientific literature review came from the University of Edinburgh. The physical activity level ties into hydration. A former university colleague was a marathon runner who had published a couple of articles on endurance training. He likewise said that golf was a moderate physical activity especially when the round stretched past  the two-hour mark. For hydration he recommended switching from water to electrolyte drink on the back nine (past two hour point of exercise) to prevent cramping. At the two-hour point of moderate activity, water starts flushing electrolytes out of the body, which can lead to fatigue and cramping. (I have had trouble with leg cramps in the past during exertion.) During a round, I start out with water on the front nine and switch to sports drink on the back nine. If the day is unusually hot, I may drink 8 oz. of Pedialite concentrate before going to the course. Maintaining overall hydration plus on-course boosters keeps me going.
    • Personally I’d try booking direct first - either via the Vidanta golf reservations number/email or through the resort concierge - especially for Christmas/New Year. Vidanta’s main courses (Greg Norman and Nicklaus designs) are popular and can book out fast this time of year, so direct often gives you the best shot at your preferred tee times.
