Well, your 9 iron is actually 43*, but I know what you're saying.

Actually it is 44* as I had them bent 1* degree weak so that I could start my PW at 48*. I knew someone would call me on that, LOL, +1 to max power for doing his homework!

I considered doing that with a couple different sets-growing up the PWs I used were always 48*, and I saw no reason for that to change. Plus you get to use the 54* and 60* with equal gaps.

I suppose I would be upset by the new groove rules if I could hit that Lee Trevino low-flying chip that looks like it got skulled, but hits the green twice and stops on a dime. Since I can't, and while I can get spin around the green, it's not tons, I really don't think I'm going to see a game-changing difference when the grooves wear out and I have to get a new wedge.

I hit that shot and it drives my dad and father-in-law nuts (b/c they can't hit it). My old teaching pro told me once to never try to figure out how I do it or I'll lose it

Dave Pelz makes me cry, too.

open your stance, set up with ball almost behind you, close the wedge face up a little and hit down on the ball...it really isn't that hard of a shot. if anyone works on those things with a little practice they will have more spin they ever thought they could.

hit that shot right to the stick on anything flat because it is gonna stop. i have some swing issues with my game for sure but spinning a wedge is not one of them.
