Taylor made iron for a high handicap?

I am looking at buying a set of Taylor made irons but I really don't know what one to buy. I am about a 25 handicap (the best I have shot is an 89 but most days I am a 95 or so.) I am looking at the Burner plus or super launch, any ideas or comments? also I am not sold on the Taylor made if there is something better out there.

I would maybe look into the regular Burner irons. You can get them pretty cheap now and they are a good set to grow into at your estimated HC..

I agree with Arsenal8807. The regular Burners are probably forgiving enough for most people.

71+25 = 96. He said about a 25. Depending on course par and rating, shooting a 95, would he not be close to a 25 handicap? give or take a stroke or is both his and my math wrong?

Anyways I've just came down from 22 to a 15 the last couple months and I was gaming Taylormade R7 when I was in the low to mid 90's. They were very nice clubs but to me did not give me much feedback. Now that I am improving I was looking for something with a little better feel, feedback, and slightly smaller head, while still forgiving. The 710 AP1 did just that and I honestly can say these are very easy clubs to hit high and land soft even with slightly stronger loft. I think it would be a good club for the 80's and 90s shooter alike I wish I would have gotten them sooner. So coming from someone with similar experience, you can't go wrong with Taylormade, I've read good things about the new Burners, but don't be afraid to try out the AP1s just because they have the Titleist name, they are very easy to hit.

I would look at the regular Burners, or Burner 2.0, Ping G series, or Callaway X series. All great clubs to play as your skill level improves.

I agree with the Ping G series, I have a set of G10's and hit them great. They definitely look better in person than they do online...

TaylorMade irons aren't any better or worse than anybody else's. I would try to hit as many different irons as you can, one or two will stand out as something you like.

I too am looking for new irons as mine are big clunky super GI clubs, and i think i have grown out of them.

I tried the R9 vs the Burner 2.0

To me the R9's felt fantastic. I was hitting some nice shots with both clubs, lots of center contact and the R9's gave you that warm melty feeling inside, where as the Burners i couldnt tell between a good hit and an off center hit. The R9's also look a lot crisper at address with the smaller top line than the burners.

Just my opinion but make sure you try them out.

If the courses have a slope over 113 this would be pretty normal...

Anyways. Burners are very forgiving irons, Burner Plus even more so. Even the Tour Burners which are dirt cheap are real nice game improvement clubs.
