Some of you guys have probably seen this before but it's a swing analysis by Wayne DeFrancesco of Arnie. I don't anything about Wayne's teaching style but I like how he describes the right knee/right hip by saying it gains depth on the back swing. S&T; guys would say it straightens and that sometimes can get misinterpreted to mean straight.

Anyway, cool to see Arnie go hands in, shoulder down, arms connected. Love the address position as well with the chin tucked and rounded shoulders. Head translates a little but the but the big pieces are there.

Arnie did a lot of the pieces really well. Arnie was pretty well stacked.

In Boston James, Dave and I tried to come up with an overall rating. Say 1-5, and ten categories perhaps... Arnie was one of the top guys, and earned 5 points for things like "shoulder down" and whatnot. Kind of a pointless (but fun) endeavor, and this video reminded me of that.

Nice video - love it - not sure what Wayne is talking about for most of it but like I said nice video. Couple things that stand out...1) Erik...we have a new guy to use for the opposite of Adam Scott (question I have is why the comment about "any instructor worth anything would change the setup right away"...was it causing a problem?) and 2) did anyone notice the little Rory "stall" with the hips from 7 to 8...note his right leg keeps flexing and extension stops and restricts the rotation for a split second. Good stuff!

Insane how much his spine tilts left on the backswing. Nice vid.

Spine tilts left...bah! Can't be...he's just "maintaining" his spine angle :>)

He's not "maintaining" his spine angle, he's "staying in" it.

In most swings you watch, hitting the ball starts about halfway into the downswing. As I see this one, hitting seems to start as soon as he takes the club away, there's that much intention placed on the ball from the very beginning. I mean, you can start feeling impact halfway into his backswing.

Hey Dave & Eril

As we worked on my side tilt and the feeling that my head was moving "down" at the Phoenix seminar....does this relate at all to the initial spine angle that Arnie has at address? His shoulders at P4 are really angled down.....much more than mine....is this the right "look" at P4??? Is it easier to start with more flexion and then tilt to the left essentially keeping the head steady but closer to the ground?
