anyone know of any books that best shows pictures of all different aspects of the swing?  similar to what golf digest does every month...

it would be nice to see tour players and where their positions are such as wrist/shoulder/even feet at backswing, impact, finish.  not so much instruction but simply illustrations

I don't know about a book but you can do a Google search on golf swing sequences and see a lot of different swings.  There sure has been a lot of different good golfers with "funny" swings.  You might take a look at Doug Sanders and Miller Barber if you're a young fellow and didn't ever get to see them play.

I found this

http://cgi.ebay.com/David-Leadbetters-Lessons-Golf-Greats-David-Lead-/270688382369#ht_1014wt_1141

at a used bookstore and it contains swing sequences like in GD, but it  doesn't include any of the modern players.

I suspect more than one person out there has scanned in all the swing sequences from GD sitting in his hard drive but it's just not public.  Maybe you can find them in flickr or picasa.

Someone could make some cool cash on a book like this. "Golf swings through the ages" or "The evolution of the golf swing"

Simply highlighting trends and styles and maybe some classic photos.

All I ask is 15% for the idea. A monthly check is fine.

You are welcome.

Maybe an ebook with embedded videos? That would seem to make more sense to me.

The problem is, though, pros changes their swing all the time.

In my bag:

nevets88, thanks for that link!!

thats pretty much what i was looking for.  i figure it would be nice to see someones swing whos stature is similar to yours (short/stocky, tall/lanky) and compare yours to theirs.  and every time i try to work on something specific, its nice to have that reference handy.

ALSO, i went to the bookstore to check out some books and ended up flipping through the stack and tilt swing book by bennett.  i have to say the pictures are really cool and illustrative.  i ended up ordering it online, even if i dont end up adopting all their principles, it just seems like a well thought out and helpful book.

Seattle just scored! Anyways, you know what would be cool? With the swing sequences, take measurements. How far weight shifts to the back, how deep the hands go, how steep the shoulder turn, how much the back leg straightens, how much weight shifts forward, how much the belt gets raised. And compare and contrast these stats. Now I'd buy that book.

The Swing , by Matthew Rudy, a Golf Digest book. It has swing sequences from down-the-line, head on, and from the line, for 42 touring professionals. Came out in 2001. Includes older players such as Floyd, Hagen, Hogan, Jones, Nelson, Palmer, Player, Trevino, Snead, and Weiskopf, but these sequences do not always have the detail and the three views shown for the 2001 contemporary pros.

This could be the book you're looking for. It's the best you're going to get for so many swings unless you make your own recordings of tournament broadcasts and replay them in slo-mo at your leisure.
