I'm in North Carolina, hot humid in the summers.  Any recommendations on what grips I should get?

I plan on getting my clubs regripped before the start of the really bad summer months.

I've been reading online about tacki-mac grips and they seem to be good as well. claim is that they keep there "tacky" feel in hot, cold, wet or dry weather. they are half the price of the new decade multi comp also.

A vote from the old school section for Lamkin Crosslines.  I have been using them for a couple of years now and like them hot or cold. I don't use a glove and they are comfortable. I must admit I don't play in super extremes, but do play in 90 F, 90 humidity.

I was thinking about these, but is there a huge difference between the midsize and standard?  I have my stock grips on my x-24 hots and I think they are standard sized.  I'm pretty sure I need a standard or a midsized..

Is a midsized a standard with 1 wrap of tape or something?  I'm kind of new to regripping.

Standard in a non-PURE grip with a wrap of tape is standard in a PURE grip without any tape.

Ditto for midsize.

I'm a big fan of the Golf Pride NDMCs as well, they stand up well in the high heat and high humidity down here on the Gulf Coast, but I plan on putting my order in today for the whole PURE kit and a set of grips to try out.

Oh ok, Is there  a huge difference between midsize and standard?  Not a whole lot I'm assuming - I wear a large glove so my hand isn't small.  I will probably be getting the Orange PURE so I'm curious if the midsize might be a HUGE difference from my standard x-24 hot grips..

If you use a standard grip and like the size, go with standard. If you put an extra wrap of tape on, I think you might want midsize and then you'd stretch them a little bit when you put them on. Or you could use standard +1 wrap of tape (just masking tape - no need for it to be sticky).

Good thing about the PURE grips is that they are very easy to put on, and equally easy to take off to adjust or put on tape. That is if you got access to an air compressor. It is a useful tool to have, doesn't have to cost too much. Or you can borrow one at a course or from someone you know.

You can put the grip on, take it off, add some tape, put it on again, take it off again, add another layer of tape, put it on again in a matter of minutes. Not having to wait for solvent to dry, glue to stick or anything like that.

I really wish they would standardize grip sizing and description. Some is easy and basic; round vs rib, cord/half cord/no cord, but "Women" "standard" "mid-size" and "oversize/jumbo" seem to change a bit with every company. Then you have to take into account core size, .580 vs .600 and it's effect on the grips outer size. The one that is really bothering me is Taper and how no one seems to bother measuring it or describing it at all.

Can you tell I am re-shafting my irons and shopping for grips lately? LOL

The good old Golf Pride Tour Wrap... Relatively low price and they wear well... They maintain a tacky feel.

Every two to three weeks grips should be cleaned using a small amount of dish detergent, warm water and a soft cloth. Rinse and pat dry (let air dry about 3-4 hours). This removes the oil residuals from your hands, chemicals, etc., and helps maintain the tacky feel. Regardless what grip you use they should be cleaned periodically. NEVER use a spray on cleaner that may have a wax ingredient or you might as well replace them.

I worked as a Club Technician at a golf equipment store for seven years and we loved the golfers that didn't clean their clubs... That meant more business and I've regriped hundreds of clubs. Trust me, clean them periodically and they will last 100 or more rounds.

Agree with mcclellan39-the Tour Wrap is the way to go.  Around here they run about $4.50 installed per club, with tax.  Can get them in black, white, or red (I'm partial to red), and a quick cleaning really does make them feel new again.

I got my clubs re-gripped recently. I went with the high end golf pride grips, they have cork within the grip to help absorb the sweat.
