thanks a lot, you bunch of troglodites...especially erik and all his minions...

i used to be able to enjoy magazines like Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.  i used to be able to enjoy commentary and swing analysis on golf telecasts.  i used to revel in my blissfully unaware range sessions.

alas, no more.  now i skip large sections of those two magazines that i have subscriptions to, knowing that within is a plethora of misinformation and damaging advice.  i have to mute most of the swing analysis on the tv, knowing that while well intentioned, these buffoons with their "release the club" and "trap the ball against the turf" mantras arent really helping anyone.  now i agonize at the range, with my camera, taking 60fps video of my swing while others stare at me like im a tryhard...

thanks, sandtrap.  i really appreciate it.

There are many paths that lead to the treasure.  Whether it's "trap the ball" or "forward shaft lean", or "keep the lag" or "maintain the flying wedge", there can be very good or very bad instruction in Golf Digest, Golf Magazine or, dare I say it, at the SandTrap.

Pick what works best for you, and discard the rest.

I think taking videos is a great idea. I say if my swing doesn't at least "look" great, then it's not good enough.

Drugs are bad. M'kay.

I change my swing every time I don't shoot par for the course.

Ha, ha. Wouldn't see it that harsh, though.

But yes, it is hard to keep your mouth shut and smile when receiving the same advice by a pro: move your weight back. Or listening in on a training session behind you. Or a buddy telling you about the newest tip he saw on the tube - roll-over the arms faster after impact (even w/o the cam you see flip-flip-hurray going on). Again, smile and work on your lateral shift forward...

There is a always a solution: headphones - and a big smile  :D
