so does it really get the ball rolling quicker? I just want an opinion from someone who has played it. I have talked to people at the golf shop but they just know from the paper work

I don't know if I can say it gets the ball rolling quicker, but the ball did come off nice and the insert felt great.  I'm very picky on insert putters, I traded the only 1 I had in last week and I've now got 4 insert-free models.  I work on the proper putting stroke, one that gets the ball rolling smoothly and right away, but the Method Core certainly was forgiving in that regard.  At about half the price of the regular Method and with a feel I prefer it's a pretty good deal.

Of course it is. The non insert Method's came out first.

In my Ogio bag.

And a yellow ball.

Define "quicker"?

The Method does get the ball rolling with top spin faster than any other ive tried, which gives it a straighter, truer roll in my opinion. When I was researching them a few months ago, and trying one out I could hear, see, and feel the ball roll right away. No delay. Where as when I tried other putters (Scotty Cameron, Odyssey, etc…) I could hear, see, and feel the ball skipping on the putting surface before it started to spin. I did get some "real" help at the store from an associate, which ultimately helped me with my decision. It came down to an Odyssey White hot Tour #5, the Nike Method 005, and the Scotty Cameron fastback 2. He told me to aim at the furthest whole and roll all three putters 4-5 times, and whichever one I could judge the distance with the most consistently is the putter that fits me best. And if it doesn't work you have 90 days, etc, etc… I went with the Method and haven't looked back.

I tried methods like that (no pun intended) then I considered how many times I'd be putting on a synthetic carpet for my index. Not as often as you'd think.

There's an optimum amount of "skid" for each player and each type of green (mostly the length and type of grass). If you've found the best putter for the greens you play, that's awesome, but I hope Tiger didn't make his decision based on the advice of a golf shop sales associate while putting on a plastic green.

Or a pancake waitress he was putting it into in a church parking lot. How much "skid" ... nah, I'm going to leave it alone.

Objection: Argumentative!

Hahaha, no seriously though. I think you just took it out of context. My point was that it does NOT "skid". If it isn't going to skid on synthetic carpet as you said, it definitely isn't going to skid on real grass. I chose it because it gave me a true and consistent role 98% of the time I hit it. And we all know that consistency is huge in putting! Yes?

I think some people are just against it because its Nike, and for whatever reason people don't like Nike…

No problem-I already have too many putters, but if I was putterless and shopping for a new one it'd probably be a Cleveland Classic or the Nike Method Core.

There's a lot of information on putter loft on the internet and in print. If a putter with as little skid as possible feels best to you, that's a personal choice. To use a putter with that produces absolutely zero skid is not necessarily a good idea.

I couldn't see much in his putting that needed fixing. Break the spell and the gremlins will get you!!

I still can't get used to him waving that wand, the Scotty was part of HIM. A bit like when Seve dropped his Ping Anser, you can't go back.............!

    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
    • Day 128 12-18 Worked on rotation and getting to lead side. Still working on the flow feeling while doing that. Recorded swings.
    • IMO-the only thing entertaining was the relay race. Everything else was excruciatingly boring...or just  stupid, like the 14-club thing. Watching guys blade wedges into the water over and over is not at all interesting.
