I'm a new member and delighted to be part of the forum. I'm also a new golfer and enjoy playing (and taking lessons) at my neighborhood course, Miami Shores Country Club. It's a good course with the only drawback (a common one) being the insistence on using carts. It has a classic feel and was designed by Red Laurence in 1939. The website is www.miamishoresgolf.com/

The Legends GC in Prior Lake, MN is a great track, always in excellent shape, tough but fair.

The 3 "favorite" courses are located in Northern Minnesota, if you love great golf on scenic wilderness tracks, then you have to visit these courses. I think they comprise the best all around golfing experince in the State.

My home course is Harding Park in San Francisco, CA. They take great pains to remind me in every way possible that they're hosting the 2009 President's Cup. Absent the private clubs in the area, I believe Harding is the best bang for the buck in San Francisco, provided you have a resident card, of course.

Just restarted playing last year so I don't really have a home course yet. The Bucks County Country Club is not private and about 3 miles from home.
