I think he pitched his clubs out the window of the private jet over the Ocean!

That or maybe he was using rentals from Augusta's pro shop...

All I know is that I've seen that look (of disgust/being lost) during his back 9.Β  It's the same look I have on my face every time I play.

He may have tossed his putter out over the Ocean, but not the rest of his clubs.

His long game is spectacular, in general. His GIR ratio is usually very impressive. If he could only convert..

You know, his short putting probably cost him the PGA Championship last year, as he was right in contention until a few missed putts late on cost him, finished 3rd.Β A poor 2nd round in strong winds theoretically cost him the Open at St. Andrews, as he finished 3rd despite that 80. Add to that his short putting woes at Augusta that certainly cost him the title. Had things been a little different, or his putting a little better, we could have seen him win 3 Majors in less than a year. That's a scary thought, and serves as a reminder of how good he is, at just 21. Leads me to believe he'll win many Majors in the years to come.

A great shot is when you go for it and pull it off. A smart shot is when you don't have the guts to try it. ~ Phil Mickelson.

He just had a horrid round.Β  He gets the pulls sometimes.Β  But he just lost it after the triple.Β  He is young and will learn.Β  Not every great player has tiger nerves at 21.Β  (I mean the old confident tiger)

If he had holed all his putts inside 5 feet in the last 3 majors he would be going for the Rory Slam in June

Correct. And that's an amazing thing to say about a 21 year old. That little putting flaw should beΒ quickly rectified with some hard work.

the same or something quite similar could be said about quite a few people.

Apart from perhapsΒ Phil last year (Masters win, T4 US Open and T12 PGA), It's been a while since anyone was that close to winning 3 Majors in less than a year. And certainly not at 21 years of age. It's all 'could haves' of course, but he was very, very close andΒ it's been a phenomenal effort for someone his age. He's clearly the most talented, and has the most potential of all the young guns in the golfing world. Had he made those putts and won those titles we'd all be talking about him being the new Tiger.

Β

Rorys first 2 rounds in Malaysia (Par 72):

1: 16 greens and 32 putts =69

2: 17 greens and 30 putts =64

Shooting 8 under par without breakingΒ 30 putts is veryΒ rare. (From what i've seen on tour anyway)

A win in Malaysia would be the perfect remedy for what happened last week. No reason why he can't do it, he's hitting it beautifully and the greens aren't half as difficult.

Well I think Rory is a very good player but he just chokes alot when the pressure is on. He has screwed himself many times by not being able to clutch it out. He didn't just play bad it was just terrible. You would think he would perform a little better by the way he talks to the press. I can't really say Rory is the best young gun cause i like Fowler. I think Rory will eventually win a couple majors but he could be a Greg Norman and just have alot if second place finishes. It's not like it will be any easier next year to win a major the longer you wait the harder it gets. Right now he is known for falling in majors until he can prove otherwise that's how i look at it to.

I suspect that tour pros have the specs for every club in their bag on file with their equipment sponsor(s). Likely they could either get a replacement at the tournament Tour Van, or could get a setΒ overnighted from the OEM.

Back-up plans go beyond the PGA tour. I met a club pro who plays in regional $$ events -Β he has a duplicate driver, gap wedge and putter in his travel gear in case he has loss or damage to key equipment.

As for me, I have the "recipe" for all my clubs written down in case - heaven forbid - some lowlife breaks into my car and steals my clubs.

Focus, connect and follow through!

As long I have an S shaft in my woods and S300s in my irons, just give me a 1/2 hour to an hour in order to figure out my main driver tendency (trajectory and shape), go-to 150 and 100 yard clubs, my go-to chipping and bunker clubs, my putter feel, and I could chase any ball around the course at my same approximate level. It actually makes me wonder why I fret over set makeups and yardagage gaps - light bulb!!!
