So, while I missed out on Monday qualifying at last week's Nationwide Tour stop, one of my buddys, Garrett Sapp, made it and played. Not only did he play, but he was second after days one and tied for the lead after day two. He kinda of slipped to T9 after day three shooting one over, but he came out hot on day four, was 4under after 11 holes and only two shots from the lead. Then, some fog started to roll in again (which delayed the beginning of play to round four) to the point where the tour decided it wasn't going to lift. They decided to scratch all of Sunday's play and award the event to the leader after day one, Daniel Chopra. http://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/h099/  Not that a T9 is a bad thing, I'm sure he's pretty stoked. And on another bright note, he is off and running with an invitation to next week's event, The South Georgia Classic.

Go Garrett!

Yes, I watched that in the evening. Chopra was ready to give up the lead on his next putt when the siren sounded and the match reverted back to Saturday's results. Your buddy was on a roll.

As the announcers said, this was not the way it should have been, but that's TV and golf. Hope you get there too next time!

Wow!!  Good weekend with a bad break. That's great man!  I couldn't imagine having the game to constantly play in tournaments like this!

Sorry for your buddy.  I heard about this and just had to shake my head.  It's not like a major hasn't had a tie-break on a Monday before, just play the last round on Monday.

Does the Nationwide Tour have a different set of tournament rules than the PGA Tour?  It's not unheard of for a Monday finish on the PGA Tour;  we had one a few months ago at the Waste Management Open.

Either way, congratulations to your buddy.  I hope he continues to do well.  Is it top-10 that gets you into next week on the NWT (like it does at the PGA Tour), or is there a larger margin reserved for top finishers in previous week?

    • Day 4 (13 Mar 25) - Easy session today, some work with the 6&7 irons - full swings into the net, followed but bump and runs.  Toss in some pitch work with the Pw with the grandson.
    • Day 34: 3/13/25 Putting through 50 mm gates. Almost a perfect session.
    • Hands go out and roll too much, which is why the backswing has trouble staying short. The short swing is too long. Then, you know what to do from there. Throw it.
    • Day 2 March 13th, 2025 Hit a small bucket checking stuff on video. Mostly back to controlling swing length and right elbow.
    • Video 1 of 2025 Lower body is better. Right knee kicks out less. Left knee straightens better. I don’t have that knee bounce post impact. Backswing and downswing with the arms, needs a bit of work. Nice OTT move there. Video 2 of 2025 - hey I can keep it short.  back to trying to keep the swing shorter and control the right elbow. Lots of half backswing feel and very straight arms. Also trying to start the downswing sooner so the swing doesn’t go on forever with the turn. Got to limit it to 90 degrees shoulder and 45 degrees hips.
