My 60* is a real get-out-of-jail-free card for me. The only time I won't use it is for a full or 3/4 shot from a really tight lie on hard ground, where the loft/bouce can combine to equal a blade over the green. Out of the bunker, it's like cheating. The fact that it's the most worn of my 3 wedges is no coincidence. I'm considering a 64*, but that might be too much even for me...!

I so love my 60* lob wedge. I used it a lot last year. I've been out three times now this yeaer and everytime I miss the green on a par 3 or my approach shot on a par 4 I'm using it from 30 yards and in. I can usually flop it in range to ensure a one putt.

My money club use to be my 56* sandwedge, but I haven't even pulled it out of the bag yet this year!

My 60* is like throwing darts!

I just put one in the bag a few weeks ago. It has helped me save par several times now (and helped me get a birdie) since I didn't have to manipulate ball position, stance, and club face of my 56* to pitch to a tight pin. Loving it so far.

For me the most consistent green-side chipping method is the 60*. Most will and do say I am crazy. I play the ball back in my stance, hit low liners, and spin the hell out of it. Up-n-down % from last year was over 55% so this method works for me.

I carry a 60 lob, but I only use it as a bunker club, as well as my 54, 60 mainly for tight greenside or deep pot bunkers and the 54 for lower lipped or longer bunker shots.
I will use the 60 though if I need to go high quickly, like over a tree etc.
My PW caters for any shot from 100 down to greenside chips/bump & runs so no need for a GW for me.

I love my 60* wedge. Use it for a full 85 yard club. Off tight lies. Short sided pitches. Hard bunkers. Plus a lot of midrange pitches.

Amen to that! Personally, I'd like to see anything over, say, 56° banned. Still, that's probably just me. I don't carry one btw!

If I gave up my 60 i would see my handicap go up overnight. That club is awesome. I like low bounce on mine. 4 to 5 degrees.

    • Day 36: back to some mirror work tonight. Need a bit more forearm roll in my feels to help with the shallowing.
    • _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.
    • Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.
    • I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
    • I haven't been able to practice like I wanted and won't for the next week.  1. The weather sucks in Ohio this year. I have been mostly inside hitting foam balls. Just kind of my basic stuff.  2. I woke up last Saturday with a left side rib muscle on fire. If I turned or leaned a certain way it would spasm that almost buckled my knees. I have been taking a break to let that settle. I don't want to get a long term injury. I think I pinched a nerve or just aggravated a muscles.   3. I am going on a mini-vacation to Florida (screw you Ohio weather) with a friend, and rolling that into a work conference I have next week. I will be with out my clubs for a week.  I will be back next in two Fridays to hit the ground running with some warmer temps and better weather in Ohio, hopefully. I would really like to get more out on the course and the range.
