I read here a lot on shaft leaning forward, maintaining the flying wedge, divot in front of the ball ..... all a sound advise of course (no doubts at all) ...... balls carrying 20 yds further, that is nice .....

But aren't we fooling ourselfs by actually delofting the club by let's say 4 to 5 degrees ?

Why?

What works for the tour pros should be fine for us. I have yet to meet a golfer that does not has "more distance" on his mind.

Hitting down compresses the ball gives more spin . Lofting an iron to positive degrees, esp. a wedge, is going to invite disaster.

But you can always go for the 0 degrees or the actual loft. No harm done, no distance or spin gained.

I strongly suspect you are baiting here.  I find the biggest benefit is limiting dispersion.   I am still working on it but limiting the flip sure makes things more consistent.

how would one be fooled by delofting the club as he or she should?  I know my distances based on being delofted at impact.  Doesn't fool me at all
