Are these deals too good to be true???

ok I ended up buying my grandpa a set of irons for my grandpa and after 14 days of delivery (they ship from china) and poor customer service (they gave us 3-pw instead of 4-aw) he was happy with the clubs, VERY HAPPY.  He also got a great deal.

I'm in the market for irons and look at the iron sets like taylormade 2.0 and titliest ap1 ... $388 is an absolute steal right???  these clubs are $700-$800 everywhere else.

edangolf does not get good reviews online.  lots of complaints.  But the price is outstanding right?

What gives?  Anyone else ever buy from here?

"Too good to be true?" is often a question that answers itself. I'm far from a manufacturing expert, but my understanding of Chinese club making goes something like this: When a manufacturer gets a contract from a U.S. company, they get the specs to make a certain club or clubs. The manufacturer runs two 8 hour shifts making the clubs. Then there's the 'third shift', where they make another run of the same product, which goes on the black market. Same stuff? Not exactly. They can change materials, tolerances, etc... to lower manufacturing costs and make a lower quality product that appears identical to the real McCoy. This is a big problem in many industries. I first read about it going on with shoes. If anybody has more insight or finds something I got wrong, please chime in and correct me.

Oh, I wasn't kidding.  I actually had no idea.  I guess I better not tell my grandpa then.  I was skeptical at first, but then he said he took them to Golfsmith to see what the trade in value was, just to make sure they were legit, and they gave him a price.  Who knows, it could have been some kid who checked them.

I was skeptical that they shipped from China even though Edangolf is based out of New york.

Guess I'll be shelling out the real cash amounts for the real stuff then.  Thanks.

China is the leading culprit of fake clubs being built and sent throughout the world. I watch a piece on MSNBC (I believe) and they showed how there was a small factory making products that had not even hit the streets yet! They will look very similar but the insides of the equipment is horrible... Also, say you have a callaway driver and break it, ship it to callaway to be fixed and it is a fake, they keep it and you get nothing in return!

General rule of thumb: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. That goes for retailers as well as customers. But, hey, everybody has their price, the price where you decide that the poor customer service and risk of getting a fake are worth the low cost. If yours is $330, fine, buy 'em. I would say the only time a price isn't too good to be true, is if you have access to like wholesale prices through the actual, legitimate, manufacturer.  Taylormade gives employees and authorized retailer employees INSANELY good prices directly through them including customization (how I got my irons for dirt cheap).  Wilson Staff also has one, Callaway too, but unless you are lucky enough to have access to those....it's too good to be true. As someone earlier mentioned, you can take two identical clubs, cut them in half, and you'll see major differences in materials and quality of construction.  The best ones are when they are obviously misspelled or missing major logos lol. And if it says "Ships from China" DING DING DING We Have A Winner!.

Fake clubs..... Just bought my ap2's from my friend who is the head pro at a country club, upgraded shafts and grips, 10% over his cost and they were cheap but not that cheap. 5-pw $708

almost any iron set (especially titleist) below $600 is probably fake because if you look at the catalog that the pro at your local cc gets with cost, the cost of all titleist irons is more that $640
