I know everyone has their "favorite iron"....You know...the one you hit perfect every time! Is it a "head thing" though? I believe it may be.....We all have one club that we have solid confidence in.....which usually leads to a well struck ball! It is when we are questioning a club, that we tend to duff it!

I love my 4 iron! (never fails)

You??

Is this discounting the wedges? I would have to say my 8 iron, however the club im most comfortable with in my hand would be my gap wedge from the fairway.

Probably my 8 iron although I like all of them from 6 iron down really. When I am hitting balls I always hit loads of 8 irons but the main reason I chose my 8 iron is because when I was a kid we used to go out on the course once a week or so and play 9 holes with just one club and for whatever reason I always took my 8 iron and learned to play all sorts of shots with it. Knock downs, cut up pitch shots, bunker shots, chip and run, you name it I was good at it with my 8 iron.

Ever since I have been a bit partial to it even though my current 8 iron is probably the 20 or 30th one I've owned :)

I guess it depends on where I am hitting from. From the teebox, I usually like my 4 iron - then 8 and then probably my 52 degree gap from the fairway.

If I had to just pick one, it would be my 52 degree... that is what I usually practice with the most.

My new irons are going to be here Monday though, so I may have a different answer next week.

I would have to say it is my 8 iron. Hey who wouldn't love the club they hit a hole in one with.

Gotta be my 8 iron. It's the club I'm most comfortable at adress with. Lot of players favour their eight iron it seems? Maybe it's just the right length to be comfortable with?

got to be a toos up between my 8 iron and my SW. From 90 yards and in witht he SW I expect to be looking at no more than 10ft left. From 150 - 160 my 8 iron is a killer.

Seven wood, I can hit it high, I can chip with it, hit it out of the rough, hit it $180from the fairway, 185 from the tee. It was a tough decision because I like my seven iron, four hybrid, and my lob wedge also. Really the only club I don't like is my four wood it definitely is on probation.

I'm suprised nobody has said this yet - I love my putter, as it saves me more than any other club.
If I had to pick a full-swing club, I'd say 3-wood. It puts me in the fairway almost every time.

I think I'm most comfortable with my 8-Iron, even though I love the versatility of my 5-Iron. I'm not at the stage where I can hit trick shots yet, but I seem to be able to hit my 5-Iron higher or lower than a usual swing when the need arises, with corresponding losses in distance.

The 8-Iron is just the one I hit "right" the most.

Still, if I'm going to lay up, it's going to be a 70-75 yard Gap Wedge shot.

Either 7,8, or 9. I guess if I had to choose one it would be the 8 just like everyone else.

    • Late morning, short gym session for press.  Four sets of five, 105 lbs.
    • First, you have some great choices in there.  Event Horizon remains a birdie movie for me.  It still finds its way onto the October options as Halloween approaches.  It fits well. I continue to forget that Arrival, when being referenced, is not the Charlie Sheen movie I saw in middle school. Lastly, what rating are you giving HG2?  Was it a par?  Bogey?  I gather from your review it didn't earn a hole in one on a par-4.  (I have yet to decide how I'm prioritizing that on my movie queue, and if I should even bother, so I'm looking forward to reviews here)
    • I loved Arrival. Annihilation is a good one. Event Horizon is also one of my classic sci-fi favorites. And now for something completely different: Happy Gilmore 2. I watched HG1 as an adult, and it was alright, but probably would have been better if I watched it as a kid. HG2 had some good parts, but overall I wasn't a big fan. I knew there would be pros in the movie, but I imagined some cameos, not them being straight up actors through large parts of the movie. They're not actors and it showed. I could've done with a lot less of them and John Daly was maybe the best of the pros. The Maxi part was boring.

    • Did I miss what your handicap was or how long you’ve been playing?  That Garmin chart is pretty useless.  Is the max number one of the numbers used to compute the average?  Without the chart don’t know how far you hit your clubs?  What do you hit from 150, ,160 etc…. Not looking at max and figuring the other numbers will probably have 10 yards of roll built in. It seems your launch and peak height are low.  I’d probably go Driver/5 wood/7 wood/ 5 iron
